Not a bad start, I would stray away from doing to much manga however, mix it up a bit with different styles. If you want to improve I recomend Burne Hogarth dynamic anatomy, Great book. If you want honest critique and not fan girlyness I would say, draw draw draw and work on human Anatomy and proper proportions.

You can get it used at Amazon.com, if you want me to send you a link let me know. Also your local borders or walden books. I believe Borders to be the best choice when you purchase books. Most artists learn from Burne Hogarth or Loomis. If your seriouse about art that is.



Every artist now a days mix styles, They tend to draw any way the industery is going, such as western + Manga, it turns out to be much better because it offers correct proportions and better facial features. There are alot of style you can learn, you can adapt those style's into your individual style and make it unique, but when it comes down to it no single artist has a superior or original style these days. DEVIANTART is the best exmaple of this, considering that every DA user only likes Manga art that is colored suggests that most DA users are of young age and do not appreciate art as a whole.


I have nothing against manga personaly, just that I believe its "bad ass" to look around and see how everyone else draws and adapt there style to your own. If you can call it that.
