Aoi Sakuraba wrote:I kinda disagree Gio, compared to our movies over here Hollywood movies are top notch. They have much better special effects and stuff. They just for some reason cant get anime right.
The effects are really good, when they take the time to actually go through and make all the right fixes and such. I hate it when they get bad and go overboard and then don't even bother to edit them and make them look good. My personal idea is that Hollywood just isn't hiring the screenwriters they should, and are going about this as a joke, a way to make money off of stupid little kids that don't care that the names and quality is being massacred.
Exactly, Aoi you must understand, although there are excellent movies out there produced by Hollywood, the movie execs only green light movies they deem a huge hit or they think is gonna be a huge hit. Ergo some execs get lucky and hire an indie director who makes them a shitload of money, but most of them just blindly go for the director/story who will give the most payout. To them this business is gambling and they rather go with a game they always play than a game they've never heard of.

Don't know if any of that made any sense...even I'm scratching my head over this.
Makes sense to me. Its like, they'd rather go with what they've seen before, rather than take the high-risk chance that is actually involved in the actual story and characters of an anime.
Exactly. Can I buy you a drink?

May the forests block your path
May your axes chip and shatter

I think he will do a great job. If anyone saw a scanner darkly you'll know what I'm talking about. Keanu is really perfect for the role depending one which Keanu shows up. He could either be a really good actor, or an extremely shitty one depending

As for live action anime, I could understand why you guys wouldn't like it, because they're not only on a very tight budget, but they have to take something marketed for a small audience, and market it for a mass one, so from their stance, I understand why they would try to change so much. Still If it's that much trouble then the movie simply shouldn't be made.
Yeah, you were right about me, but can I get myself out from underneath this guilt that will crush me? in the choir, I saw our sad Messiah he was bored and tired of my laments

They are on a tight budget, but they try so hard to mass market it to EVERYONE instead of a select audience like they really should. And if they made it the way they were SUPPOSED to, following the proper plot and characters and not [censored] the up so badly, they'd have an even bigger pay off, in my opinion.

I'm not saying you aren't right, maybe you are, but they hardly care whether or not you enjoy the movie, they're just out to get money, so they try their best to make it appealing to a broad audience, even if it goes against conventional wisdom. And for the most part they succeed. If you really want change, stop seeing their movies.
