Why does everyone pick the same characters? Sure Kenshin is cool, you have to like his "I'm not looking for a fight, but if you attack the innocent, I will be forced to defeat you." attitude.

However, no disrespect to those of you who like the classics, but I tend to like characters who are a little more unique.

Saito
He is a little darker then Kenshin, and with his "Kill evil instantly." motto he seems a little more real to me. Everyday people don't usually have a perfect understanding of right and wrong; Saito sees it his own way and deals with it his own way, even if that way is slightly corrupted.

Jin-E Udo (Kuragasa)
Besides the excellent animation that created Jin-E Udo, literally he --his face in particular-- is the perfect picture of a psychotic killer, you have amazing voice acting, and two great episodes to show how insane he really is, not to mention hinting at the idea of how he became that way. The idea that carrying out assassinations, even when done with the noblest purposes in mind, can seriously change the mental state and character of a person can be observed in numerous different characters in the show, but none more notably then the blood-thirty Kuragasa.

Maybe I'm just weird, and should like characters based on hotness. I would love to hear why some of you picked the characters you did though.

i completely agree. my favourites r sano, coz hes so much like me it aint funny, makoto shishio, coz he just rox and anji the destroyer coz he could break stone with his ass if he wanted to. mind you i like lots of others, but those r my 3 faves that i can think of rite now.
