Custom User Titles

I thought you could only change your name once a week. Why not just increase this time to something more reasonable. Like a month or more?
Otherwise I bet some annoying user will request you to change their user name for them!

This is not possible through the phpBB system. And guess what.. webmaster will simply ignore suchs pms with name change requests. XD (at least this is what I expect him to do)

Sorry, I don't know much about php boards or any forum host really...
And I agree, webmaster would most likely ignore such requests, however, I assume they'd still fill up his inbox and be annoying with that regard!

Because it can be a pain in the butt when people change their names. I know you as one name and then the next week it's something different and then the week after that. If there was some kind of limitation, like maybe one change a year, but there is no such option.

Is this specifically aimed at moderators and troublesome users, or is it just users in general. I figure it's the former as your probably not going to remember a general user name anyway! In which case, you could bully your mods. Sort of ask them to minimize the frequency they change their user names, and keep you up to date with the troublesome username changes. This is sounding harder than just saying screw u all no name changes..damn

That's why we have moderators. I've seen the user titles people have on other forums and none of them had anything vulgar or offensive in them.

i wasn't bashing other sites, because, i find, other sites i go to have more mature users. if we could rewind to summer 05, i would agree with you on the idea. but, sadly, i dont, due to the current state of affairs.

Again, we have moderators to oversee that users do not abuse this privilege. And frankly, lots of forums have hordes of immature and stupid users and those sites do not have issues regarding user titles. Their problems consist of trollers and fanboys for the most part.

You're silly being silly. People can have whatever username they want and thats not abused too heavily, I know not the exact same thing but the fact is there is no harm in trying something new. And as a former member of the "mule" family I am greatly offended

I really don't see why we can't have custom user titles. As long as nobody writes anything vulgar it should be fine.

I know exactly why, it doesn't even take ten seconds to change your name again, and it has nothing to do with hacking.
