I have cleaned up a lot of this topic, don't like it feel free to angrily criticize me in pm. I can honestly say I'm disappointed.

This topic was meant to unite us as a community to try to solve whatever problems we may have. The OP may have not stated her business fluently enough, but the point is people are complaining about AA and we're attempting to do something about it. The thing is we moderators have a responsibility to make this site as safe and fun as possible. The only thing is we are very limited in what we can do and it is up to you users to take charge and help us to help you solve problems. I honestly expected a serious discussion of the problems that we have so that we may better service you but instead I got.

Flaming, finger point, and people basically claiming to be the messiah of this site. One person will not destroy this community, and one person will not save it. Anything that happens is because of a collective effort of the members of our society not one person.


Also I'm gonna say one thing that may upset people. Who cares about the people who left this site? Nobody who cares enough about this site would leave it no matter how bad its gotten, I only care for the users who are still here fighting against whatever problems we must face. Now is not the time to point fingers it is the time to unite as a group and work together on making this site better.

Abraham Lincoln once said a house divided against itself will not stand. And the same can be said of this forum we will not survive if all we do is take sides and fight against each other.

The steps to problem solving isn't to point fingers and place blame for those unfamiliar with the concept. Its discussing problems, discussing solutions, and putting those solutions into action. If this doesn't work we start from step one and do it over and over till we get it straight.

But even if they got my point I highly doubt that they'd take it into consideration. -Most of them anyhow support the wrong doers on AA. I never really thought of it that way. I guess I'm too wrapped up in all the rules being broke. I don't see the good somewhat. I've already thought of retiring several times, even though that's not right. But I decide to stay because I'd be a hypocrite. I stated in my application how much I love this site, and if I left, so soon, I'd call myself a liar.

I wish that we could work together, as a site. But there is always going to be rule breaking, flaming, finger pointing, etc.. But these days it's gotten to be too much. This site isn't as bad as some people lead on but if we dont do something now, it will be.

To solve AA's little problem, a lot of users need to change their view and attitude towards the site, and the authority on the site.

We're not the bad guys, even though you may think we are.

Our purpose is to help this site, even though it may not seem like it at times, it might seem like we're too strict but we don't mean to be. Again, it's to help the site.

They have lives outside of this forum. Every member here will leave for good eventually.

Most users here do respect authority and each other. As far as I can tell, no one here truly has bad intentions.

I'm surprised your post hasn't been edited yet. There is no such thing as free speech on this forum. If a mod doesn't like something you say too bad! I'm not saying crude insults and vulgar language should be straight out approved of, but, the fact things as painless as 'Mods need to stop hating on GT, he's brings life and interest to this site. Every forum needs a user like GT to live things up.' gets edited to '[deleted Come on, how many posts of yours do I have to edit?]' is absolutely ridiculous! If you did your job properly you probably wouldn't have to edit any! Are we under some totalitarian regime or what?
I mean, this quote 'people like GT encouraged others to be like him and crap up the site.' got edited for flaming. Maybe it does fall into the flaming category but still, I think thats way over the top.

Yeah, I went a little too far with post editing and had forgot my manners, I apologize for that. But the reason I edited it, isn't because it's untrue. It was because it was off topic. And I felt it would attract too much "negative" attention to this thread.

i wasnt just pointing out the only person, just an example. GT is funny, but he can go too far sometimes. everyone is guilty. no one, even mods, should get high, mighty, and rightous over everyone else because flamming, spaming, whatever because at one point, they themselves did it too and most likely still do from time to time.

Haven’t I been preaching anyone on AA who has a problem to pm me or another mod?

You clearly haven’t seen the amount of "oh this site is.." whatever threads. Why won’t the AA community help each other out?
