My Moderator Application: Lust.

Hm, good application, Lust. Very solid reasons and I've seen the way you handle situations. So, I vote 'Yes' =). The only thing I can say is tone down with the rules. We all occasionally forget them, and it's good that you're reminding everyone of them, but just tone it down a tad. Oh, and instead of just posting in a thread that 'It should be locked' or whatever, why don't you use the Report function? I used to use it a lot, lol. Or, if you want, you could always PM a mod online at the time. I understand that not many mods are active at some parts of the day, but that's just because of the Time Difference =). So, the best is Reporting. =)

Yeah thanks Bambi. I appreciate it.. and I guess I can tone down with the rules some.. but I just want them to be followed because the webmaster doesn't ask for much... And we go and break the rules on him after he works hard for it. So thats my point..

disclaimer on how i am judging this appliation:
i already say yes to you as a moderator after speaking to you tonight.
youre mad chill.
im just going to go through your application with you, and basically just be lammeeee and throw some moderator-ly pointers for you.
some of which will be no use.
and others which actually might help you
but mostly itll just be me rambling.

I have not been here long. But I intend to stay. I joined June 23, 2007.. and was inactive shortly after I joined.. I just returned 9-28-2007.

the way i see it, you dont have to come to the site every day. and you dont need to be souly responsible to help on everything on aa, at every possible hour of every possible moment.
we have so many inactive moderators that it is annoying, lol.
so if youre not active, dont bust your own balls.
ill bust them for you, BRAH. :

mainly, we need moderators from different time zones.
beause, you may or may not have noticed that:
sometimes there are like 15 mods on at one
and most other times there is a retired moderator whom is annoyed with fixing the problems and more or less lazy and doesnt do squat.
(i.e: me xD)
or:
theres one on trying to do everything and overwhelms themself and just screws everything up.
and while the latter may be true: that mod is soooooooooooo not me. xD

all im trying to say is: eh, screw it. if you cant be on ALLLLLLLLLL the time, its not a bad thing.

it just means you are still new enough to have a social life.

Before you vote no. Give me a chance to persuade you to change your mind. I have already befriended many people, I love most of you guys, and dislike very few.. if any. And even though I lack experience here, I wouldn't consider myself a noob. I know the basics. And for my post count.. I try to stay civil and not spam threads, and 90% of my double posts are accidents. In my opinion.. post count is just a number. It doesn't tell anything. You could have "1" post and be the best moderator ever. So please overlook these details..

like you said, post count really means nothing.
but on aa, that's like, a hobby for people, lol.

the only importance i see that a post count consists of when youre viewing a person's application is:
you can look through them and see the way they handle situations,
how thuggg they are,
(which ultimately matters, cause we all know the moderators are just straight thugforlifeplusafewbudweiserssss),
their attitude/respect/structure,
(you get the point)

so, i guess its just a way for people to read up on you
and uh:
read the book
before juding it by the cover
(for lack of a better metaphor. :[)

I wish to become a moderator to help this site. I see some threads that need moving/locked so I tell mods about them. I wish to stop bothering them!

bother the active mods before the retired ones
cause i modded here for a few years
and my fingers are tired of clicking that lock/move button all the damn time.

symos, an old friend of mine and a few others just recently retired from aa
and he was like, the best at that.
(even sometimes had to censor my post ever other lunar eclipse. )

but this is probably one of the hardest parts of the job.

you have to read the entire thing
and it sucks when it has like 15 pages.

LIVE CHAT... There is.. so much going on here, it's crazy.. So much rule breaking.. swearing, flaming, more than just "playing" sexually... I will do my best to stop this. I am in live chat most of my time on AA.

oh god, dont get me started on that god forsaken chat room.
i tried constantly for a few months when we had that bad apple on the forums

its a lot better now, actually.
but aa is everchanging, and we're getting more bad apples every time a new TV show comes out.

so my advise to you:
warn once, then ban.
if they come back and repeat previous rules they broke in which they were banned:
report them in moderator discussions.

thats the best way to go about it as of now.
that or the chat leaves.
which wouldnt be too bad of an idea.

SPAMMING! - Too much spam going on in local threads.. And people go off topic.. and just don't go back on.

because people would rather mess around than talk about anime on this site.
before we had mindless chit chat (aka pointless chit chat) there was just the off topic discussions:
which kept things more contained.
and now tihngs are just leaking

Many people tell me to submit my application.. because I do act like a moderator even though I don't have the title nor the power. Though there are cases which I get my head bit off.. and I want this to stop as well.

The reason why I respect these rules so much... The Webmaster. You know him, right right?? Nice guy.. he worked hard to put this site up, most likely. And I want to honor him for this, and all he wants in return is just a few basic rules followed. And I can do that, unfortunately.. some people can't.

like bambi said: we all break the rules every now and then. ken understands that.
so when theres a little spam in threads, or a little off topic-ness, or a little hostility, we all cant get our panties in a bunch
because then we'd get swap ass.

-I'm above thirteen
-I guess you could say I'm likeable
-I have a sense of humor, and get along with almost everyone here.
-I keep my cool.. I don't argue with people.. if it gets THAT bad.. I just ignore them.

I can also see that you really, do help others and stop arguments from happening and i salute you for that.

i know you'll be a great mod and hope when there's already a vacant position, you'll be chosen. your patience is also very benefiting (sorry i can't find the right word) for yourself and us. Just be patient and do your best and you'll be a mod in no time at all.

I may not know Lust that well but I've seen her around, she may be new to AA but she acts maturely than others. ^^
