Well, I never thought I would be here doing this.

I made the suggestion to make a Japanese Language forum here on AA, I didn't think it would ever happen, but as it turns out the web master here has a very open mind and he decided to make one.

Now, if there is one thing that makes me cringe, it's people butchering the Japanese language. If no one is around to answer questions when someone starts out learning the language, then these can turn into bigger problems.

I am on my way to getting a B.A. in Japanese (currently level 500) and I would not be able to sleep at night knowing that I could be helping out with beginners questions on the language instead of not doing a thing.

So please, let me moderate the Japanese Language forum.

I will be able to answer just about any questions that arise from an average beginner. Also, I lived and worked in Japan for about 6 months a couple of years ago so I can also answer most questions about Japanese culture.

On top of that, I have had experience moderating two other forums and have had no problems at all with that.

I have read over your post however is the japanese section your only concern? You stated your reason but there was only one. Let us know a little more about you and why you think you would make a good soldier of AA. But as for now I would have to say yes because you are an outstanding member of AA and you always seem to treat others good. Still you need more detail please. As I said you have my backing.

The Japanese forum would be my main concern, but of course I would help with moderating all the other sections of these baords. But if I was made to only moderate the Japanese language forum I would have no problem with that either.

To the disgust of many people, I believe newbies should be loved and nutured, not bashed around and flamed. How is a new person on these baords supposed to learn anything if everyone just makes fun of them when they make a mistake? Forums miss out on what could be great forum posters by flames and nasty remarks. Poor little guys, I want to hug every one of them.

I think that you gave great reasons on why you should be a moderator and I can see that you definatley don't spam, I say Yes.

Knowing a different language is great for moderators , I would go french right now, But i'd aggrivate everyone :\
Anyways, Yeah i think you would be suited for the job, Ive seen you help people before, Never seen spam, Never seen flaming, You dont get mad when someone puts flaming towards you

In my opinion you are exceptionally suited to being a moderator on this forum. Whenever I have seen your posts I have thought: "He would be a kickass mod." And I hoped you would apply. The only problem is you said cricket was boring... j/k

Im stuck in the middle. You seem like a very bright chapp and its good you know japanese and such...but...you seem to care more about a japanese section...that maybe you wouldnt bother about this? Well...I'll put no opinion just to be nice.

ohh I'm with KIDA on this one. It seems you care more about one particular area of the site than it in its entirty and while I've never seen you flame or spam I've never seen you blow the whistle on it either. so i'll put no opinion

I do agree with kida there...but you do seem like a nice person.. atleast the posts I've seen from you^.^ But it does concern me a bit about you being a bit more ..(whats the word I'm looking for..)obsessive (-.- that wasen't exactly right but it will do)about this japanese section..

Well I see your points, and I agree with you 100%. You have to see where I am coming from. It was my suggestion to make a Japanese forum, and now that there is one, there is no one around to moderate it. I can't help but feel it is my responsiblity to do something. As far as I know I am the only person here studying Japanese at university level.

If any of the other mods here can speak Japanese I will withdraw this application. I would hate to see mistakes made with no one around to correct them.

You're a nice person and I've never seen or heard that you did wrong.

True my computer can't read your name because it's in Kanji's but you're still a nice person who has a good reason to become a moderator.
