We're bracing ourselves in preparations for the surge of Gundam Seed Destiny fans that will soon plague these forums once the DVD hits shelves in March.

Not true. G Gundam was quite good. G Gundam started out quite badly, but towards the middle of the series, the plot becomes quite thick and compelling, and the final conclusion is quite fantastic as a fitting conclusion to the Future Century arc. I would give the 1st half a 5, and the 2nd half a 9, which averages out to a 7/10, which is quite decent. The mobile suit designs were incredibly bad, but lookin past the designs and the terrible 1st half, G Gundam is a fitting addition to the Gundam saga.

Now Seed... I can live with Seed. Don't particularly like Seed, but the show does have its good points and I can understand why people like it. It just doesn't appeal to me. However, Seed Destiny on the otherhand is inexcusable. It started out fairly well, but by the 14th episode, it had already started going downhill. By the halfway point, it turned into crap. Add to that the most infuriatingly disgusting ending that I have watched in a mech anime, and one can see why I hate Seed Destiny. It has since taken over G-Savior's position at the bottom of the barrel. On the otherhand, Zeta Gundam and Turn A Gundam are the cream of the crop of Gundam anime.

I dont know, I liked the Idea of them mixing Genre's but they didnt do it so well, when the Gundams battled in G-Gundam it looked like scribble. Sometimes they slwoed down the pace so you could see what they were doing. The ending was good though.

GSD taking over G-Savior's spot at the bottom? That's a tough call, if you go story wise I'd call it a tie. Design wise, well while the G-Savior it's self was pretty cool looking it did lack a common feature of mobile suits in UC Gundam since Zeta's time. The linear cockpits with the 360 degree monitors. GSD at least made more mobile suits that were homeages/knock off (whatever term you prefer) to the original UC Gundam that looked rather good.

Although the Lacus custom Zaku was just too over the top.

Well, I believe the reason I hate Seed Destiny so much was that I was really expecting great things from Fukuda. Though I did not like Seed very much, the first few episodes of Destiny were excellent, and I was expecting a great show. The letdown disappointed me a great deal, especially with the stark contrast between the first episodes and the last ones. Pitiful. On the other hand, I already had low expectations for G-Savior, and was merely watching it for laughs. It did not disappoint my expectations, nor did it exceed them.
