What if the roles were reversed?

I was watching Seed one night and something kind of interesting just came to mind what if Kira's and Athrun's roles were reversed. Kira being one of the Zaft polites who stole the Earth Forces Mobile Suits from the start while Athrun was the one who grow up like a normal boy. I was just thinking this would make an interesting topic that is if someone hadn't made a topic about it already.

Personally, I don't see anything interesting about that. Both Kira and Athrun are so similar in terms of character that they are interchangeable, I would imagine switching the positions would yield roughly the same plot.

What I would find more interesting is if Mitsuo Fukuda chose to keep his original script for Gundam SEED's final episodes. Fukuda caved in to fan pressure, and altered his script to suit fangirl(boy?) needs, A precursor to what he would do in Gundam SEED Destiny. I for one, would love to have read the original script. (One of the rumors is that Kira was not meant to survive SEED.)

oh ok, well i think that if that really did happen, then all the fangirls would have went on a rampage and also, the story for seed destiny wouldn't have been the same. For example

if kira had died then athrun would have probably stayed with zaft in seed destiny. and cagari might have ended up dying in several occasions. there is also the possibility that heine wouldn't have died meaning that shinn wouldn't have gone all psycho and a "must kill all my enemies!!!" rampage. then finally, on the final episode, dillindal(sp?) wouldn't have died the way he did with rei and captian talia(sp?)
