What's with the ages?

Luffy is 17.
Nami is 18
Zolo and Sanji are 19.

Luffy looks like a kid.
Nami looks like a kid.
Zolo and Sanji looks like full-grown adults.

What's with the aging of the One Piece characters?

To me only Luffy looks like the kid, besides some age faster than others

I haven't given this question any prior scrutiny, but from what I can tell, I think that Oda-sensei wanted to have his characters young and also looking similiar to the characters of Dragon Ball.(If you didn't already know, Dragon Ball is Oda's favorite anime/manga.)

Luffy is suppose to be similiar to Goku, Nami is suppose to be similiar to Bulma, Zoro is suppose to be similiar to Tien(hey, three swords, three eyes) or Piccolo(they seem to have a similiar additude), ect ect.

Luffy can act very serious sometimes; but he just doesn't show it. "Without risking your life - you can't create a future" is my favourite wise quote.
Though; my favourite dumb quote is "When you are hungry, eat"

I noticed the ages are a bit strange. I mean Nami looks likes she's Luffy's age - but she's a year older. And Ace is Twenty something and he looks like Zoro.
Not to mention Kaku; he's twenty-three and he looks like Zoro's age too o.O

All the pirates comment on how young they are; and how they have the rest of their lives to go. I suppose that's why Eeichiro Oda made them so young-ish.
