Ok well i'm planning on purchasing a tenchi muyo box set but i dont know which one to get. I remember watching tenchi muyo a few years ago on toonami but that was when i was young and i cant really remember the name. From what i remember, they were in space on a ship. I think it was that animal thingy ryo oki or something. There was that girl with blueish hair, that princess i think(she had somewat red hair), that crazy little lady with the long red hair, and that pilot lady with blonde hair and dark skin. I remember tenchi had a lightsaber of some sort. im thinking its tenchi universe but can someone clearify it for me?

edit: and should i get the OVA dvds, tenchi in tokyo, and GXP?(i've seen both movies)

hmmmm i think it is tenchi universe actual im pretty sure....... i dont recall the show to the t but i do remember that is the name.....

I would highly recommend the Tenchi OVAs and GXP, since these are from the same canon (the OVA canon). I believe the OVA canon is the truest representation of the Tenchi saga.

oh, but its not really based on tenchi is it? All i want is that tenchi goodness ^_^. I saw on this site that it was about tenchi's classmate who gets drafted into the gxp or something

anyways, i saw the tenchi muyo perfect collection on ebay for 62 bucks. its brand new the owner says and it comes with the OVA(1-15), 3 movies, tenchi in tokyo, and tenchi universe. Isi t worth it?
