Death Note Director's Cut is a special 3 hour episode of Death Note, mainly a compilation of the confrontations between Light & L, re-edited from Ryuk’s perspective with new dialogue and soundtrack along with additional animation that could not be included in the original series.

Yes they are acctually going to relaunch the series as the directors cut. I think they are going to extend parts to make it 40 episodes this time.

There you can watch the full death note special.
cause it's just a preview on the veoh site.
Though, it takes a long time to buff...
