Having touble with Shadow of the Colossus

I've been playing Colossus for about a week now...and I'm still on Colossus number 3.

It's because I can run around for 3 hours, but I never find the thing!

Did anyone else get hopelessly lost playing that game...?

Is there any way to avoid it?

You just have to suck it up and look forever, even I sometimes get lost, and I've beaten the game like 12 times.
The third one you say? That one is on an island thing above a lake. If I recall correctly it's North West, in the first opening of the cliff face beside the desert right after you go over the bridge. Yeah, something like that.

Very helpful! Although...

I got to the cut screen where you are in some kind of dim place on the edge of a lake...And I swam all around and still couldn't find it...
What the heck? Am I even in the right place?

That's the right place, there's a path in the lake that leads up in a semi-spiral. You have to climb up that, and get over to the huge platform above the lake. The colossus is on top of it.
