Help finding the name of an 80's Anime in America.

There was an 80's anime I used to watch when I was younger. It had 3 vehicles (not animals) that joined together to form a giant robot. It was a different robot depending on the order in which the vehicles were joined. I know Mighty Orbots was not it. I think one of the vehicles was green. Does anyone recollect this anime?

Was it Getter Robo G? not the first one(Getter Robo) but the one they made after it. It had three guys that fly jets/or some kind of vehicles that could assemble into different giant robots by putting themselves together in deferent orders. there was an old video tape of Getter Robo G I think at our house with an episode with a little girl with a pet rabbit in it but the rabbit got killed buy some bad guy. O-@
