The small box which is located in the top right corner of your profile(when ur changing ur profile) with the contents 'http://' is where you put the url to the picture you want to have as your avatar.

Or, you can chose an avatar from one of the AA galleries.

The HTTP is for remote linking for an avatar that's not on this site. If you find a small enough image on the internet, right click it and select properties. Then copy the image's url and paste it into that text box in your profile.
