Matrix Online

Post by Slip »

Anyone play this? I just bought it today.

For those who haven't but are thinking about purchasing it - do it. It's worth it. If anyone has any questions - ask.

The thing I found amazing about this is the game masters are in the world a lot, controlling the environment. Depending on who is doing what mission, they change the world around. It's neat because there's a storyline going on, and with several hundred people one one server...if one major player in the game does a quest, it can change a lot of things about the environment.

I've done a lot of Massive Multi-player games before, they have some good original game play ideas in this though.

I know its supposed to have massive environments and everything, along with a continuing story line. I have a lot of respect for the Matrix Franchise, I loved Reloaded and Revolutions despite critic's complainted of a convulted plot line. But I have seen this game in action and I must say, I am thouroughly dissatisfied with it. With games like World of Warcraft at the same price, along with a larger community, I don't think the Matrix Online will do well or develop a significant long term community. I must say the idea as revolutionary as it seems won't live up to its promise, because if you remember Atari saying..."Enter the Matrix was going to provide a revolutionary action gaming experience by integrating gunplay, action and puzzles". But it turned out to be the buggiest game of the new millenium with horrible animation and gameplay. The same development is behind this game too. I don't want to get the opinion that i'm dissuading you all from buying The Matrix Online. I'm just saying, be sure to weigh these factors.

And as I live, there is no evil that will stand
And I will finish, what was started
