Goldfish Warning!

I just finished watching the third episode of this series. It's realtively old (1991) but only now getting into fansub. It is also angst-free and incredibly bizarre and funny.

Well, there is some angst, but it's purely satiric. Goldfish Warning is ostensibly the story of Chitose, a rich girl who lost all her money and has to go to a cheap school that is about to close. Her only reminder of her former, priveleged existence, is Gyopi, a very rare pink goldfish. but when Chitose's lawyer tries to steal Gyopi, he accidentally gives away the key he had previosuly stolen to a safety-deposit box left behind by Chitose's father. Chitose decides to get revenge on her former friend at her snooty private school by rebuldiung her new school to rival it.

And that's when the insanity begins. For Chitose's fellow students are not the least interested in grandiose schemes of revenge, or indeed in anything other than having a good time. And even though Chitose now owns the school, she is finding that events are continually spiraling out of her control. Gyopi himself appears to prefer the company of Wapiko, an uber-kawaii and extremely enthusastic girl, to Chitose's, and develops both eating habits and powers that are very unusal for a goldfish (such as a fondness for potato chips and the ability to fly and beathe air!)

Making matters worse, Chitose's old school, under the leadership of her rival Yurika, is plotting her downfall and continually sending spies to the new school.
