Has anyone ever been made fun of for liking anime? I've heard some schools, it's literally the "in" thing to like anime. Not in my school. I live in this tiny little dusty town that has one high school. The high school has like 1,500 students and there's only like 50 anime lovers out of all of them. We used to have an anime club in our school, but they closed it down...FOR A STUPID FASHION CLUB!!!! Seriously. Something about not enough classrooms...it's so unfair...

Anyways, I get called a freak everyday for liking anime, if not I get called a freak for being an honor student, if not, I get called a freak for liking manga, if not I get called a freak for thinking bishounens are cool...okay I shut up now...

I am not the typical anime fan, I have had to explain my car plate frame one too many times... "Anime - Crack Is Cheaper" .. to co-workers! I guess I am old enough to not have any real teasing over my passion, but I have gotten odd looks.

You know, it's like this. If they don't 'get it', they aren't going to. So just understand there are people that will think you strange and odd... but differences make this world interesting, doesn't it?

Hang in there and enjoy life as you see it.

I dunno, I prefer uniformism and totalitarianism, throw in a bit of facism and bingo we got a perfect world where everyone can get along. Diversity is the root of all problems.

Actually, I feel sad for many people who don't like anime. I didn't even expect an anime club at my high school. Very good one, in fact. Small, but good.

One guy at my high school said that anime was gay. I was like "Nu-uh." I said to him did he ever watch any? He said he watched dragon-ball, and it sucked. I said to him

"If you heard one rock band, like ac/dc, can you say that Rock sucks? You don't know what you're missing."

To anyone who is upset about attitudes like these, just remember that you were priveleged to watch and enjoy anime while the other people gripe about how gay it is. I'm serious! I can get loose watchin anime. Relieves stress.

I don't get it why the hell is my school district the only one without an anime club. See its much easier, than explaining it to people that anime isnt "Barney and Friends", to not-care or say "f*** you". Although i have never resorted to the latter.
I really dont think that people make fun of you for liking it unless your'e completely making a retard out of yourself by completely dressing yourself in anime. In that case you deserve to be called a freak, cause you're overdoing it and probably not well either.

Actually, my school has an anime club due to its seniors. I love Em! If i were to create one, it would be HARD CORE ONE pIEce!!! I'll just bring my episodes and all...

I personally see anime as a book with pictures. I look for good story line and character development. As for it being gay, I suppose one would think that if all they saw was FAKE or any other yaoi based dvd.

Males, for the most part, in anime are usually very thin and lack much muscle may cause that thinking too?

Well, in my high school, gay is another term for really stupid. And I don't like yaoi. Some of it's kinda funny, but yeah

Yeah, people at my school make fun of anime, and sy things like 'Oh, any body can draw that.' >_< It's not true at all. It's very difficult and it takes a lot of practice, I know! Still...I think most of them are hard core anime fans at home. :p And its probably true...

ive never been teased about it, however, a lot of people say only bookworms read books, (although, i dont know about manga and comics) yet they watch tv. if it werent for the book, we would never have had the tv, or probably even the computer! so the book is the father of the television set. I guess people who also watch tv are bookworms too!

ps: anyone reading the last part, dont take offense. im just stating a fact.

I love books, computers, manga, and anime. But Tv, well, there's realy nothing good on in America. 'Cept for like a few shows...then u've got crappy soap operas.

Why are all the cute guys in em, anyways? Soap operas suk, no offense.
