What I think about... Ghost in The Shell 2: Innocence

Post by Jovenitto »

Well this one is a frying pan for your brain, but we'll get to that in a moment.

The image is flawless, evolving even more from the first movie (the first GITS movie was the first ever to use CG [Computer Generated] graphics).

In this one, there are sometimes that I wondered if they really incorporated real footage in some scenarios. But they didn't!
Like for example, at the begining,
Spoiler
Show
when Batou enters the alley and is looking at the dead cops
one of those spoilers that isn't really a spoiler.

Sharp image like never before in every frame of the movie, made me speechless.
Better than that, only the magestic greatness of the background wide areas (the cathedral and the huge flocks of birds flying around, the technological city, and many more).

The music is breathtaking, and makes my arm hairs stand up every time. I kid you not!

Moving on to the brain frying...

You'll understand what i mean when you see three times in a row the same sequence and, like me, you'll think: "What the f#%k! My DVD player broke?" Not at all.

Not everything is directly explained in the movie, so the viewer has to have a solid previous knowledge of the world of GITS and how stuff works in that world (either by the first movie, the manga comics, or both the TV series, being the later the best for understanding the whole picture).
You have to always be aware that there is no need for a person to even move to talk to another person in other parts of the globe, cyber-brain hacking is a constant, conscience downloads into cybernetic bodies too, and there is always something more than what meets the eye.

The characters continue to amaze me. They are the same as ever, but never the same. Nothing to point out except excelence.

By the time I finished viewing this, I closed my mouth, wiped the drool from the corner of my mouth, and spent the next half hour "digesting" it. It was that good.

By now you'll probably want to know my rating on this...

This movie is one of the few, if not the only, that i give a perfect 10. (i said in my Last Exile review that I wouldn't give out 10's... I didn't remember this one, don't know where my head was... #-o )

IMO, you're not a real anime fan if you haven't seen this (exception of course to those who haven't seen it yet, and are about to kill their anime supplyer for failing to deliver this movie  ).

See ya next time!

I already spoke my mind on my Last Exile review post, so i'll only ask for some opinions...
objective ones, please...

Did you like/dislike the anime?
Do you agree/disagree with the review I made?
And mostly, why?
