Torkaizer: Arabic animation in anime style Posted Jul 23, 2022

The world of anime is booming nowadays, and it is one of the most consumed genres by the public on any streaming platform. Furthermore, it is possible to find content about this style very quickly on social networks, as there are a large number of influencers who base their content on talking about anime.
Such is the impact of this genre that a few years ago, even the United Arab Emirates production company, Alter Ego Productions, announced its series "Torkaizer". The series was produced entirely in the Middle East.
The Arab Emirates has a very high economic power. The way of life is very different from any other country. Every day more and more sectors are beginning to establish themselves there, such as the world of entertainment, among many others. For example, you can find online casinos in UAE with which you can enjoy gambling in a safe and reliable way. Also, when you want to play your favourite games with real money, whether online or live, it is best to take care of it and opt for benefits such as VIP bonuses. When it comes to withdrawing or depositing money, you can do it safely and securely without having to link your bank account.
What is anime?
Before we continue talking about this Arab production, let's be clear about what anime is and what it consists of.
Anime as a concept refers to Japanese cartoons, but it is much more than that. It is considered a cultural and entertainment phenomenon that has been gaining popularity over the years. It is closely linked to both Japanese comics manga, and cosplay, where you wear costumes to become your favourite character.
Anime characters are characterised by very big eyes, very thin lips, and very strange hair. Their faces are more expressive than those of other genres.
Torkaizer
In the Arab anime Torkaizer, we get to know the story of Ahmed. Ahmed is a normal boy from the United Arab Emirates who sees how a holiday in Japan gets complicated in a way he never thought it could.
Tokyo sees its streets invaded by aliens, and when it seems that all is lost and there is nothing that can be done to save humanity, a miracle happens. Ahmed finds Torkaizer and bonds with him to defend Earth from the alien threat.
This United Arab Emirates project is being created with the intention of making the Arab world's first anime, and relying on the production company Alter Ego Productions to do so. Alter Ego Productions is in charge of producing animated content, and for this project, they are working very hard to adapt it to the tastes of the Arab world.
It was not until early 2013 that news of Torkaizer came to light when the first trailer for the film was unveiled by surprise at the Middle East Film & Comic Con in Dubai. It was then that it became clear that it was intended to mimic the anime style, unlike the rest of the national productions.
The news made a big splash in terms of the animation, which was considered decent enough for what the United Arab Emirates-based production company wanted to do. Besides local animators, Alter Ego Productions has high-quality animators and extraordinary talent from different countries around the world on its team. As a curiosity, a large part of the production was taken to the Philippines for its final edit.
What happened to the production?
In 2014, a second trailer for Torkaizer showed the progress of the series, so it was understood that the project was already at a very advanced stage of development. However, nothing has been heard of it since.
On the official website of the series, it is mentioned that the project is still in development. Although, the last update that exists on this page is from 2014. On the contrary, on the production company's various social networks, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, a few concept arts and illustrations were published in 2019.
As of today, the status of the project and the reasons for the decision to stop it are unknown. There are some anime forums where there has been a lot of talk about the possibility that some sheikh or investor pulled out of the project and it has been put on hold indefinitely.
What do you think, will the outcome of this one-of-a-kind production ever be made public?
