Character Description: Dutch
The individual known as Dutch used be part of the U.S. Marines... that is until the fall of Saigon (now known as Ho Chi Mihn City). Then he went AWOL and never returned, working as a mercenary around Southeast Asia and the South China Sea. Somewhere down the line, he had gotten ahold of an old World War II-era Patrol-Torpedo (P.T.) boat, which he named, "The Black Lagoon", which he employed individuals like Revy, Benny, and later Rock.
This African-American soldier-of-fortune is rather a pragmatic one; he doesn't like to get into fights. But whenever he is forced into one, he can fight like the best of warriors. He also has the blessing of the Russian mob boss Balalaika, one of his principal contractors.
Dutch, while being a moderate, likes to think of himself as a businessman, working between legality and illegality, trying to find a balance between the two. He's also one of the few people that can keep the murderous Revy on a short leash.
