Character Description: Ulquiorra Cifer
Ulquiorra is an espada in Sousuke Aizen's Arrancar army. The number 4 that signifies his rank is on the left side of his chest (as seen in Bleach manga chaper 271, page 15 after Ichigo's attempt to stab him). As an Arrancar, he was once a hollow, a deceased human soul that is corrupted and consumes other souls, until he removed his mask with the aid of Sousuke Aizen's Hougyoku, or Orb of Distortion.
He is cool and calculating, swiftly analysing his opponents' skills. The full extent of his combat strength is unknown, but as a member of the elite espada, he is probably exceptionally powerful, more so than a Shinigami (Death God) captain. He also has the ability to show others events that he has witnessed by removing his left eyeball and crushing it. It later grows back. The name of his zanpakutou, the sword that seals away his hollow form, is Murciélago (黒翼大魔), which is a Spanish word meaning "bat".
