Hey everybody!
I'm just wondering if the ranma tv series will ever be finished or will they just leave it as it is now, unfinished, i mean the demand is there to continue and eventually finish it.

It's hard to say with Viz. They have a reputation for dropping series that don't live up to their expectation is sales. For all I know if Inu-Yasha sales surpass Ranma which they might be doing Viz could drop Ranma anyways.

Ask me I know. There is a line of series Viz has dropped from lack of sales, of course if they weren't flooding them market with newer titles maybe they could finish the long list of titles they dropped.

And if you want to know what titles has Viz dropped?

Any chance of a different company taking it over or vis atleast making a finishing movie to tie up all the loose ends?

I didn't say Viz was dropping them. I just said they might if the sales were dropping low enough.

And Viz selling the license to another company? Not likely. They've held on to the license of the Lum manga for the past 10 years and have done nothing with it, same with those other titles. No, Viz will just sit on them, even a petiton will not get them to do anything with them.

At least that's fopr manga, I don't know what Viz intends to do with the Ranma series. I've been avoiding Viz since they dropped the Lum manga.

I heard somwhere that they arn't bringing out any new episodes for tv though and im worried they have to continue it its excellent

There were 161 episodes made of Ranma 1/2 and 2 movies and a number of OVAs. Viz can only release what has been made. Rumiko Takahashi ended the series a long time ago. So there will be no more Ranma 1/2 made in Japan, it's up to fans to keep Viz releaseing Ranma1/2.

But like I said, if the fans of Ranma 1/2 can't keep up the support for Ranma. Then Ranma may fall to the wayside like Rumiko Takahashi's first big hit Urusei Yatsura. Viz stopped the translation and printing of Urusei Yatsura shortly after they started Ranma 1/2. So I'll ask now that Viz is printing and releaseing Inu Yasha is Ranma 1/2 looseing it's fan base to Inu Yasha?

I'm sorry for you, I liked Ranma 1/2, but I liked Urusei Yatsura more. So it's rather hard for me to really feel much sympathy for the Ranma fans after Viz dumped my favorite manga series. Atleast Animego is almost finished with Urusei Yatsura on DVD, but I would still like to see Viz or someone finish the manga series. But newer fans aren't buying it.

So my gripe is just as much with Viz as it is with newer fans and anime going mainstream. The classics are left behind in favor of a newer mainstream audience.

So perhapse you should try and get the Inu Yasha fans to get into the earlier works of Rumiko like Ranma. I keep trying to get all of them to look into Urusei Yatsura, with almost no success.
