Hey, this is just the opening paragraph. If you like it I will post more of it. if not, then this topic will be deleted.

In The End
"If there was an answer, he'd find it there"
The silence of aftermath is broken only by the flutter of black feathered wings and the hoarse caws of gore-crows. There are no cries, no moans, no sounds of dying men fore the men are wholly dead. Sharp ears might hear only the droplets adding to spreading pools of cold blood. An all too short time ago the air was rampant with staccato reports of gun fire adding to the cacophony of steel on steel and screams of terror and agony. Dirty sunlight gave no warmth as it surveyed the scene through growing mists of cordite and powder. Shattered flesh released their lives while blood fell as rain on fallen comrades in the chill air steaming.
Above it is silent.
Below, in the bunkers that reek of fear and woe; with walls only now starting to run with the blood of their husbands, sons and brothers there is growing voice of grief uttered as one by many voices. A ululating wail of loss and rage against that which is insensate to the voice. Death hears them not. But I can.
We are British and we are in the middle of a war. The Russians are invading Britian and my family and I are in an underground bunker, right beneath the battle grounds. My mother as a nice lady, soft voice, silk brown hair, and a gentle touch. My two brothers are huddled close to her, as if they were connected to her. They are both younger then me. Tears constantly falling from their eyes. Our father has gone to war, along side with his best friend, Abramson, but we call him Abe for short. Father has been best friends with Abe since they were about ten years old. You might even say they were brothers. The four of us are huddled in a cloistered bomb shelter underneath the war grounds. I was about to say something but suddenly there was a loud explosion sound. I felt like my heart dropped as I remembered the last words my father told me before he left for war. He told me to look after my mother and my two younger brothers, Alec and Godrick. As for myself, I am William Angelus.
The ground above us is shaking and my brothers are screaming in fear. Dirt falls from the cealing and the flame in the kerosene lamp goes out. The shaking stops and my mother is comforting my two young brothers, trying to get them to stop crying. All goes quiet again.
I heard a noise from behind. I stood up and quickly widthdrew the dagger that my father gave me to protect my family from any danger that we may come across while in the cloistered underground shelter. I swiftly jumped to the side of the door. My plan is to kill whoever it is that comes through the door. I will have to stab the throat, because that is what my father had told me to aim for when I am not noticed and there is danger lurking around the corner. There is a knock at the door. I can see shadows at the bottom of the door. I can tell that there is more than one person there, this won't be easy.
There was a loud bang on the door. I think someone is trying the kick the door down. Again, another bang. They realized the door is too strong to break down. I heard a click and then three shots of a revolver, and the door knob falls to the floor. The beam of light shone on my mother's face and the door was kicked open. A man stood there with a revolver, and two other men jumped into the room weilding automatic rifles. The two men with the automatic rifles grabbed my mother and my two brothers. I leaped out from behind the door and jumped on the man other man's back. He struggled and squirmed. But I just wouldn't let go. I took the knife and drew a line across his throat. He threw me off side and then fell to the floor grapsing his throat. The two men pushed my mother and brothers in front of them, took aim at my mother and my infant brother, then shot them. I lay motionless of the ground as I watched my mother and my brother Godrick fall to the ground, dead, followed by the splashing sound of their blood hitting the walls and the last breath that was released as she died. Alec somehow managed to move and hide between some barrles. I jump up and run towards the two men in a furious rage. I don't know what I was thinking when I did it though, that is, if I was even thinking at all. The man hits me in the face with the but of his rifle. I feel my feet lift up in the air, as my head and neck hit the ground first, then followed by me legs crashing to the ground. I black out.
Three years later.
"So thirsty," I said, "Where the hell is this damn city supposed to be?"
"I don't know brother, but we need to get something to drink," said Alec, my little brother who was trailing behind me, "How much water do we have left anyway?"
"Not enough for both of us," I said with a sigh. The water cantine is almost empty. I held out the canister to him and said, "Here, drink this. You look like you need it more than me." He took it, and without hesitating, drank the rest of the water.
His face is pale white, lips are dry and are starting to split, and his face is so dirty that it looks like he had never bathed in his life. We have been looking for this city for almost two weeks now. We are out of food and water, and are in the middle of a desert. I don't think things can get any worse.
The desert sun is so hot, I can't wait untill the sun goes down. It is just befor dawn. So things are a bit quieter than they usually are during the day. After the sun goes down the weather goes from boiling hot to freezing cold. Makes no sense to me, but I'm not worried about it. We continued to amble around the desert. We have no maps, no compass, and no water. All we have right now a bunch of questions with no answers, and about half, if not more, of the Russian military out to kill us. Alec was walking up ahead and I am slowly catching up now. It is way to hot and we are never going to find this desert if we just go straight.
"Brother! Brother!," Alec cried, "I found it brother, over there."
I ran up to him and look in the direction he was runing at. There I saw it, the ancient city of Sibbleblandabala. Sibbleblandabala is a hidden city, not located on any maps. There is no reason as to why they don't want to be displayed on map. I think it is because they don't anyone to come to their city. We ran quarter way down the hill, but tripped and rolled the rest of the way down. We didn't even notice that the hot sand had peirced out skin and we now had open cuts on our lets. All we wanted to do was get some water.
Finally! We are now inside the ancient city of Sibbleblandabala. We bumped into some strangers and they offered us a place to get cleaned up. We showered, ate, drank water, and filled our two bags with food and water supplies for the next time we get stuck in the middle of nowhere without a compass or map.
The people here are very friendly and nothing is very expensive. I have to find a man that goes by the name Taj. he has a peice of information on where I need to go next.
We wandered the city for about three hours befor we found him. He was at the Basil Inn, sitting in the bar, drunk no doubt. Lady Melia told us to see this man, Taj, and recieve a letter from him. Lady Melia was our foster mother, untill World War two, when she and our infant brother, Godrick, wer slaughtered in the safety of our under ground bunker.
"That bastard will pay dearly with his life!" I said angerly, and aloud.
"Uh, brother? You are doing that thing again," Alec said, "You know, when you speak your angery thoughts."
"Sorry, I was just thinking--"
"Stop thinking about it. It will only make things worse," he inturrupted, "We will find them brother, don't worry. After all, we made a promise to mom. now let's go and find that Taj guy."
We walked into the bar. It smelled like cigarrette smoke and whisky. The smell was putred. We went to the counter and asked for two drinks.
"Hahaha, I can't server you," the bartender laughed, "Your just a couple of little kids."
"Well, than can you give us some water pelase?" I asked arrogantly.
"How's about a bottle of milk?" he laughed at us again sliding over two pints of water.
"Very funny," I took a sip of water, "Okay, look. We're here looking a man named Taj. People say he is a ragular here. you know him?"
"Hmm...–"
"Please, it is very urgent that we speak to him."
The bartender pointed at an old man drinking beer and smoking at the same time. Alec and I walked up to him. I talked to him, but he as a very confusing man. Pretty hard to understand, seeing as how he is drunk. His teeth were rotting and he smelled horidly. But the good thing is that I recieved the letter we came for from him. Now what Alec and I have to do ismanage to find transportation to Geona Italy.
He told us where to get two camals and he gave us money to pay for ferry tickets. But there wasn't a ferry anywhere close in the blasted besert.
We left the bar and went across the street to meet a camal dealer. We told him that Taj had 2 camals registered for us. He gave us the camals. He said that they know where to go and it should only take one week or so to get there. I didn't argue with him on how how they know, becasue I have gone to far to throw away all that we have worked for. We got on the camals and they started to walk. Although they were slow, and smelled bad, they can go days without water and we don't have to use any energy.
After eight days, we finally made it to Genoa, Italy. Alec is excited that we are here and he is practicaly jumping for joy. But we have one problem, we have no idea where to start looking for this "Lady" person.
"Hmm... Where are we going to find this lady the onld man was talking about?" Alec asked.
"I have an idea," I said, "We shall walk around looking for all the inns. We fond Taj there so maybe we wil find the other person there too."
"Great idea brother," Alec said gleefully.
We ran all around the city looking in all the inns. We found nobody by the name of "lady". After a long day of rambunctious roaming we decided to get somthing to eat. But suddenly, an elderly woman came up to us, handed me a pink envelope and ambled away.
I opened it. It read:
Be at the Naples docks, just go south of where you are no. At Six P.M. tomorrow night.
I folded the letter and put it in my pocket.
"We better get walking Alec, Naples docks is a pretty far walk from here." I said.
"Brother, how long are we going to be doing this?" he asked.
"Doing what?"
"You know. Hunting for an answer that we havn't even a question for. We have been doing this for nearly three years now, don't you think we have gone far enough?"
"No! We can't give up now. We made a promise to mom and Godrick. We will find those damn Russian soldiers and we will kill them.
"But, I'm not like you"
"What do you mean?"
"We have killed over five people in the past few–"
"They were trying to kill us!"
"Yeah, but did you really have to kill them? I mean they had families too y'know."
"But they took away all we had left. They shot mother and Godrick. He was only an infant! Eigth months old," I cried.
"Well... Brother, look. I don't like killing people. If we do encounter a large group of people and we have no choice but to kill them, and our lives are at steak, then we will fight. But untill that happens let's try to keep the killing to a low, okay?"
"Fine, but if I am up one-on-one with someone and they are trying to kill me, I am going to fight back."
Alec sighed, “Fine, but, I am only doing this because I made a promise to mom and Godrick.”
I started to walk and Alec trailed close behind me. We had been walking for so long now. I lost track of time, but I had if I had to guess, I would say it was about four in the morning.
“Alec, I guess we are going to stay the night there,” I said pointing at the Naples Inn.
We walked into the inn and asked if they had any rooms. We were in luck, they had one room left. I paid the man, he gave me a key and a room number. I carried Alec on my back because I knew he was going to pass out due to exhaustion. He fell asleep on my back so I carried gently placed him on a bed, took off him boots and thre w a blanket over him. As for me I pulled out a map that I got from Sibbleblandabala. I outlined out route that we will be take to the Naples docks and the route we will continue to follow after we leave Italy. After all that mapping I took off my shoes, threw them into a corner, grabbed a blanket, turned off the lights, wrapped myself in the blanket and went to sleep.
“Wake up honey,” said a gentle woman’s voice.
“M...mom?” I said half asleep, “Is that you?”
My vision faded inward and I saw my mother holding Godrick.
“Mom, it’s really you!” I exclaimed with joyous.
“No Will. It’s not me,” she said with depression in her voice, “You are actually having a vision dream. There is no time for small talk.”
“What do you mean?”
“The Russians, they finally traced you down. Wake up your brother and get out of that inn and run to the Naples docks.”
“But –”
“No buts! There isn’t much time left. They will be there any minute from when you wake up. Now go!”
“I love you mom!” I screamed.
“Now wake your ass up and get your you and your brother out of there.”
I heard an utter ringing in my ear. The ringing was so loud and annoying that I woke up with my heart thumping hard and my lungs out of breath. I got out of bed, woke up Alec and I dragged him down stairs. We ran out the front door. I saw an alley and decided to hide behind sme barbage cans.
There was what sounded like a train whistle, followed by the running of a dozen Russian soldiers. They kicked the door to the inn donw and searched the place for th two of us. They could not find us, so they stopped the raid and marched off down the street. I explained to Alec what I dreamt about. He didn't believe me. Instead he put he hand on my forehead to feel my temperature.
"Ah! Whatever. there is no point in staying here," I said, "Better start walking towards the docks."
It's about seven o'clock now and we are still walking. I stole a bag of apples from an unattended fruit stand in the market. I don't enjoy stealing from such a nice city, but I have to do what needs to be done for survival.
"There they are Al, "I said pointing towards the open water about two kilometers down a long slanted road. Now all we have to do now is hide somewhere where noone will think to look for us and take turns keeping watch while the other sleeps. I will keep watch first. You get some sleep, okay?"
"Don't you need sleep to?" he asked.
Not really. I'm not even tired," I replied throwing him the backpack, "Use that as a pillow, it has clothing in it, so it should be softer than this ground."
I looked around and found an alley that looks like it is always dark. This should be a great place to hide for now. We walked into the alley, Alec got comfortable and went to sleep.
As people walked by, unaware that I was watching their every step, the minutes of the day went by at warp speed. Well, so if felt like. Six in the evening has come already. I was about to go out and watch for Lady, when suddenly, I felt the cold sharp touch of a blade to my throat. For a second, thought my life was at an end. Just then the blade was removed slowly. I turned around and saw a very prety girl. She had long dark brown hair, about midway to her back, with a blond highlight streaming down the left side of her bangs, and elegant green eyes, glittering to perfection. Al was behind her, a dagger in his hand held to her throat. She dropped her dagger.
As the dagger fell, I noticed the word "Lady" embroyded in the sides. It spun in the air, slicing the air and almost making a whisteling sound. The dagger hit the ground with a fierce clash, chipping part of the cement. The dagger was deflected off the ground tossing it back into the air about one inch then hitting the handle to the conrete ground until a sudden halt was put forth on the magnificent blade.
"It's about time you showed up," I said with a subtle monotone.
"Yeah, it is," she replied, "Do you mind?"
She was giving a guesture to Alec to lower his dagger. So he did, but cautiously. We talked to the Llady, she told us her name was Kalii. I think that she is a remarkable person. She is cute, smart, swift, and knows everything there is to know about being a proper assassin. but I can't get too attached to her. The more I see her, talk to, and like her, the harder it will be to say good bye.
She gave me two ferry tickets and a house adress.
"Don't you think this adress mean I am asking you out," she said glaring at me, "This is just a safe house until you can get on the ferry tomorrow morning."
Ouch, I guess she doesn't feel the same way I feel about her. She got closer to me, put her lips millimeters from my ear and whispered, "I can't ever feel the way you feel about me."
"Why?" I whispered.
"Becasue I can kill you, pretty easily too," She turned around, bent her knees, picked up her dagger, whiped it off, and put it away,
"The ferry leaves tomorrow morning at eight o'clock, and you will be on it. If your not, I will kill you and take your wallets."
"Fair enough," I replied.
She walked away and we just stayed in the alley until it got darker.
It is about nine o'clock at night. We had already walked to the adress described on the paper. We stand in front of the door. I knock, but there was no answer. I knock again, again no answer. I go to knock for a third time, but the door opened. Al and I looked at eachother for a second, nodded, and walked into the darkened room cautiously. The door shut with loud force. We went back-to-back with each other and withdrew our daggers. A single beam of light shone upon us. I heard a whooshing sound comming from my left. I turned and saw her. Kalii was standing there, her soft, glistening eyes, smooth hair lightly waved to perfection and gently tied into a ponytail. He tight body, covered in velvet black cloth. I was bedazzled by her stunning looks and magnificent welcoming. She told us where our beds were. Said for us to get as much sleep as we could becasue we still have a big journy ahead of us.
I slept fairly well during that night, and now it was early morning. The sun is starting to rise, the sky in pink, red, and orange, and the early pigeons are pecking at the window. Everything is peaceful. Well, everything was peaceful. When suddenly Kalii kicked the door down, knocking it off his hinges, waking up Alec and starteling me. She had been equipted with a two meter Maschinengewehr ammunition belt around her left shoulder to right waist, half a dozen Model 43 Stielhandgranate hooked around her wasit belt, a German SS Leader Dagger locked on both ankles, a MG42 in her hands, an M1D grand sniper rifle slung around he right shoulder at her left waist, two Parabellum Luger P-08, one on each butt cheak, and a twelve inch scimatar blade laying across her chest safely strapped in its' sheath.
"Get up!," she yelled, "We have some unexpected visitors, and they don't seem very friendly."
She pushed the light switch inward and the bed started to move. we jumped off the bed and it flipped upsidedown revealing a tunnel that led undergrounds. She pushed us down the stairs and we landed on the matress. The stairs were soft, and now I know why, so the fall didn't hurt as much. Kalii jumped down the stairs.
"Move," She yelled.
Alec was very confused, so was I, but I'm not going to question anythng. I grabbed Alec and threw him to the side, then I jumped off the matress to where he was. Kalii took a grenade from her belt, pulled the pin when she removed it from her belt, and threw it up the stairs. She then threw the pin she took off her belt and hit a little blue button on the wall about four feet from the trap door. The trap door closed quite fast and the grenade exploded and a rumble was sent down the now darkened underground safehouse.
I had a flashback of when I was in that underground bunker three years ago during the war.
She flipped a switch behind a rock and a system of stationed lights went on set by set down a fourty-foot tunnel. There were only about twenty lights total. We walked down the tunnel, to the end, climbed up a ladder and opened a hatch that was above the ladder.
we are now outside. Firetrucks, police, and paramedics are investegating the half demolished house that was once Kalii's, and people make a scean in the surrounding area. She tells us to get to the docks and board the ferry. As for her, she said she had soem unfinished business. So we ran as fast as we could to the ferry. It wasn't very far, only about two kilometres away from Kalii's house. We ran for about one kilometre when we heard a large explosion. We stopped running, turned around and saw dust and dirt soaring into the air. I looked at Al and he looked back at me. We shrugged our shoulders and continued running,
Finally! We made it to the docks. I gave the ticket cleark our tickes and we boarded the ferry. The ferry conductor closed the gate. But where was Kalii? The anchor was lifter out of the water adn the boat was untied from the dock. I didn't see Kalii on the ferry anywhere, si I thought she was going to stay behind. but people started to sceam in the background. I saw in a distance Kalii on a Triumph Tiger 100 speeding her way towards the ferry. I think she was plannign on joining us, bt\ut there is noway they would stop the ferry for her. I could hear her hit the accelerate. She was picking up even more speed.
"Damnit!," I yeled, "Everyone get out of the way!"
The people in my surrounding area stepped off side. Kalii was at the dock. She hit the edge of the dock and ramped off one of the peices of wood. She jumped off her bike in the air and flew towards the ferry. She wasn't going to make the jump! I ran to the edge and held my arms off it for her to grab onto. She did, and almost pulled me off the ship, but Alec grabbed ahold of me and we pulled her onto the ship.
"Are you friken crazy!?" I exclaimed, "Are you tring to get youelf killed?"
She stared at me blankly.
"Nice jump by the way," I said.
She smiled and giggled. She lifed up her pant leg and took off her now broken knee pads. She must have hit her knees off the side of the boat. That was it for the action on the ferry. Nothing exciting happened on the ship after that. Everyone gave us these weird looks for the whole cruise. The rest of the cruise was twenty-three hours long, almost a day. we went past Messina, across the Mediterrenean Sea, south through the Suez Canal and Red Sea and docked in Djbouti.
The three of us are now walking around Djbouti, just looking for a place to spend the night when nightfall comes. We managed to find a low-rate inn, practically hidden in the darkest of allies. It's cheap and had beds, so we didn't care. the three of us shared one room. But there was only one proble. There was only one bed and a ripped sofa. Alec got comfortable on the sofa and left the two of us to fight over who gets the bed. We stared at eachother in a competitive manner. Then Kalii jumped on the bed and wraped herself in the blankets. I sighed with relief that we wern't going to fight over it. better off I just lose and we call it an end. I pulled out a small sheet from my bad, lay it down neatly on the floor, put the bag down to use as a pillow and laid down on it. The lights were still on. I was about to get up and turn them off, when I saw Kalii undressing.
"Oh!" I said, suprisedand embarrassed, "Sorry, I didn't mean to–" She put her fingure to the lips vertically to indicate me to be quiet, then continued to put of her pajamas. They were blood red and made of a soft silk cloth. When light shone upon the cloth at made a glittering shine that could attract anyones eyes.
She turned off the lights and went back into her bed. She moved to the left side of the bed and slid under the covers. She made a gesture that told me to go over there onto the bed. I slowly got up and walked over to the bed. I reached for the blankets and pulled them up, went under them and laid down next yo her. We are now face to face. She just stares at me. We both reached forward and kissed. We kept kiss for about five minutes, until she stopped. She put her hands under the blanet and pulled off her pants. Then she took off my pants. Well, you should have already guessed the rest of my night.
In no time at all, morning came. Everyone is quiet and elegantly peaceful. The sun strikes the dark alley and sheds light upon the unsuspecting shadows. Light shines through the ripped window curtains. The light shone onto my face waking me up slowly. I roll over to see if Kalii as still asleep or not. Suddenly I get hit in the ribs with a chain. I scream out with pain. Again and again, the chain hits me in the body. I was so confused that I went into a panic. I get hit in the head hard. My vision fades in and out for a sec seconds, then I fall off the bed and black out.
It is quiet and dark. I hear nothing but the sounds of water drops hitting the cold, eroding, blood stained, concrete. I feel very weak. I am not sure if my eyes are open or closed. My legs feel like they are bleeding, I wouldn't be suprised if they were. I am not sure what the time is, because every angonizing minute feels like an hour. I would think it was close to early morning becasue the prison slasher hasn't come to wake me up yet. The cold December air flushes throught the warm cell and a door opens revealing a man holding a dangeling whip in his right hand. Oh great, there he is, the prision slasher. I call him the prision slasher becasue he always has this whip which has a blade attached to the end. He especially likes to slash people in the legs. He is a really disgusting person. He is tall and lanky, has black hair, and brown eyes with a cold conscienceless smile.
"Wakey wakey," he announced, "Time to get up little boy."
He took his whip and started to woft it around my face. I could smell the blood that was encrusted on the blade from the day befor. I open my eyes.
"Now get up!," He demanded, "Or I'll whip you a few."
I shimmered my way up the wall and to my blood coated feet. He looked at me, amiled and chuckeld.
"I didn't say Simon says," He whishpered in my ear.
I held my breath. As he whipped my legs.
I screamed out with agony, and fell to the blood stained cement floor.
"Now, Simon says stand up," He laughed.
I struggle my way up the wall.
"Well done," he miled, "Simon says walk."
I just stared at him.
"I said Simon says walk!" He was getting angry.
I saw a black chadow run by in the background. I looked at him.
"What don't you understand about–"
I stepped forward one step.
"Heh," He chuckled, "I'm glad to see you are cooperative today."
I took another step forward and whispered in his ear, "I can play games too. Let's play Simon says."
I looked at him, and he got a tighter grip on his whip.
"Simon says [censored] off and die!" I jumped to the far cornner of the room, hit the wall with my right side, pretty hard, too. I huddled close in the corner using my arms to cover my face.
An active grenade rolled under his feet . he looked at it, then looked at me with astonish and the grenade exploded sending charred remains of his body throughout the room. Blood fills that air and the alarm was activated.
A shadowy figure jumped into the room, threw a me a Colt M1911, and picked me up. It was Alec. He put me on his back and ran straight down the hall. A man jumped aout from around the corner. I shot him in the eye. Blood launched into the air as he fell to the ground a bleeding corpse. Al slowed down. he was pretty exhausted. Suddenly a man kicked open the door infront of us. He held an MP40 and took air at Alec and I. The man dropped his gun, fell to his knees and bled through the back of his head. Kalii was standing behind him. She kneeled down, pulled the knife out of his head, and whiped it of his coat revealing the word Lady Embroyded into the knife on both sides of the blade.
"C'mon!" She hollered, "We havn't got all day."
I was glad to see her once again. It has been alomst three years since I last saw her. Not much has chaneged on her, except she is has shorter hair now. But not short enought to where she can't put it in a ponytail. I on the other hand look like I just went through three years of torture without a bath. Oh, that's right, I did.
Alec ran with her leading upfront. I shot only two people on the way out, Alec didn't shoot at all, and Kalii was going trigger happy on everyone. She must have killed atleaste two dozen Russian soldiers on the way out. We reached the exit. Kalii shot the door knob and it fell to the floor with a large clang. She kicked the door open and aimed everywhere. There was noone around. I think she killed them all. We jumped into an unattended jeep and Kalii started to drive down the road with great speed. Alec pulled out a remote. He clicked a red button and the whole militia prison base bust into flames.
Kalii's hair was waving in the air. Alec was smiling and looking out the side of the jeep. I am just sitting there. Staring blankly at them both. I have not been outside of that prision base for three years. I don't even know where I am in the world.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"You don't know?" Alec questioned. I shook my head.
"We're in Novokuznetsk," Kalii replied, "In the south centre of Russia."
"How did you guys find me?" I asked
"We have always known where you were," Alec replied.
"And you left me here for three years!?" I said with agression.
"We had a hard time getting here," Kalii said, "Good job with planting the explosives Alec. You sure showed them a thing or two about messing with the best."
Alec smiled and chuckled.
