The adventure to the retirement home (true story)

One day my best mate and I went to a retirement home with my mum to see her friend. So we got in the car and off we went. Along the way we saw trees, trees and more trees and some shops. After about 10 to 15 minutes of driving we arrived at the retirement home. My mate and I were anxious to see what the inside of a retirement home looked like, so in we went.
When we got in we found it nothing as we expected. It smelt weird and the rails were greasy and the elderly people there stared at us as though we just came from another planet. We walked a bit further down the hallway and to my mum's friends room. When we got there, My mum went in and we waited outside. Me and my friend decided to take a look around.
We looked in the first room. We found someone in there and for some reason began to laugh, yeah we were weird like that. Then I decided to walk to the end of the corridor, I looked around the corner and saw a gang of elderly people walking towards me.
I turned to my mate and said "Old people coming". So we stood back and watched them go past. Me and my mate agreed that they had a secret agenda and were just waiting for the moment to strike. So we waited a little longer, then the mother of all things happened, I accidentally touched the rails again. "Oh-no" I said to my friend and he laughed. Then we started making jokes and chuckling to pass the time while also keeping an eye out for those elderly people.
After a couple more minutes my mum said her goodbye to her friend, came out and it was time to go. As we were heading out I did the unthinkable. I touched the rail a third time. "EWWWW" I said to my friend as I wiped the oil from my hand on his back. He turned and said "what are doing that's gross" I just laughed and we kept walking.
As the door got closer we could feel a disturbance. We looked around and noticed those same elderly people looking at us. "OMG" I said quietly to my friend and he said "quick faster, they're gonna get us" and we walked faster. We could see the doors in site now, so we walked faster. Finally we got out and we breathed a sigh of relief.
"We made it Wes" I said to my mate. "I know, we were lucky to have survived that ordeal Mat" he said back and we laughed. Then we got in the car and went home and saw all those trees and shops again. We finally arrived home and laughed some more at our adventure until the day was through.
