I have no questions about it; I just have trouble remembering information in US History. I have a 76 in it, so that beats Algebra II at least. I'd like a study tutor for US History. I'll let you know what I'm studying xD! I just hope your attempts at helping me study work, provided you actually decide to help me with it.

Of course! Just let me know what time period or what subject you're learning and we can discuss it in here. I also might have a trick or two on how to remember things...Once, I had to memorize about 47 U.S. Supreme Court cases, and I got an A on the test. XD

Oh, my GAWD X_X. I would fail that quiz. I might make about a 63 though. I'll PM you some notes on what I'm doing. It's composed of two lessons. I'll do anything at this point to make sure my grades improve.

My confidence usually goes downhill as soon as I see the questions and about 40% of them not being what I studied.

Athos would you happen to know the difference between Fascism and Communism? I have a bit of insight but I'm looking for more info on the matter.

The political philosophy of "communism" was started by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engles who both complied the "Communist Manifesto." in 1848. In Communism, the government has ownership of all the property, to which is to be distributed on the basis of the needs of each class. In the "Communist Manifesto" they believed that there should be a dictatorship of the proletariat. A proletariat is someone who is a wage worker [Ex: Industrial Laborer, or retail ].

Fascism is the philosophy of government that stresses the importance and the glory of the State, unquestioning obedience to it's leader, subordination of the individual will to the authority of the state, and harsh suppression of dissent. So, in other words, it's like In the 20th century, fascism came about from fear of the rising power of the lower classes. Generally, with fascist governments you see a lot of propaganda, and portraying it's leader in a positive light. (If have read George Orwell's book, 1984, it's very similar to Winston's world).

The main difference however is that unlike communism, fascism doesn't take the property away from the classes. And there is more "positive emotion" towards the fascist government.
And to add give to etymology, fascism is derived from the French word, "fasces" which means "bundle." So think of fascism as a "bundle" of people who are very patriotic about their government.

My teacher said the Communism is a good thing because of something like equality but there's just bad leadership.

James Madison wrote in Federalist Paper #51, "If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself." I don't that a communist government can control itself.

And regardless of the type of government, there will (at times) be bad leaders.

In France and the U.S., there is eminent domain, which is where the government takes your property (for the greater good) but they must pay you just compensation. California voters have to vote on proposition 98 and 99 which would limit the state's power to use eminent domain.

There is also an ironic story behind eminent domain. A case involving eminent domain was taken to the federal circuit. The judge allowed a contractor to eminent domain a property. Right after that case, that same contractor eminent domained that Judge's property.

(by the way, your teacher sounds like a egalitarian).

Constitutionally speaking the government can only seize property under 3 actions.

1. Eminent domain

2. inverse condemnation

3. Police power

In both methods 1 and 2, you must be paid just compensation.

But in the end, the arguments are broken down to the individual and society. Which one trumps the other depends... Henrik Ibsen touched up on that issue in "An Enemy of the People." (He also wrote "A Doll's House).
