Well, I'm not a huge fan of FDR. To date, he is the worst President on my list. FDR greatly expanded the power of the Federal government. Congress let him have his way (by passing almost any "new deal" legislation he proposed) and he even threatened the highest court by appointing Justices who were over 70 and a half. And FDR only made all those agencies to give people jobs. And also, when he created those agencies, he took power away from the States. The U.S. Constitution explicitly (for the most part) gives the Federal government power to regulate certain things. And anything outside of what is said in Article 1, Sections 8 and 9 (9 mentions powers not given to Congress) and Article 2 (which is the powers and duties of the President of the US). And, you have the 10th amendment which grants any powers not given to the Federal government is then given to the States. And, if the States do not have that power, then it will go to the People.

Also, when FDR announced the New Deal plan, the former President (Hoover) even told FDR that this New Deal would take away the People's self-reliance. During Hoover's presidency, he told the people (during the Great Depression) that we would pull out of it. (World War II got us out of the Depression). However, the people were too frantic and voted him out of office.

When I attended President Ford's funeral, people told me that they were very sorry for voting him out of office. If they could go back in time, they would have re-elected him. (The people were upset at him for pardoning Nixon for the Watergate Scandal [United States v. Nixon]).

There is an interesting "theory" I have heard about. I don't think much of it though

I'm not a conspiracy person. It just isn't realistic in my mind. That is why I do not think much of it. There is really only one conspiracy I believe.

And what is that?

The Kennedy assignation. He spoke out against the Federal Reserve and they killed him. Or so the conspiracy goes.

Kennedy was the one who was easily replaced after he died right?

o.O What do you mean, "easily" replaced? After President Kennedy died, his Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson become the President through the Twenty-Fifth Amendment, United States Constitution. Article II of the Constitution doesn't mention presidential succession.

When President Harding passed away one evening, Calvin Coolidge was sworn in around midnight I believe.

Yeah. There isn't wasted time to swear in the Vice President.

When the vice president becomes the president..then who'll be the next vice president?

[Athos]

Well, he can either appoint someone to serve as Vice-President, or if we wanted too, he could choose to not have a Vice-President, or he could use the Speak of the House. If the President dies, the Vice President becomes President, if he dies, then the Speaker of the House will become the President. If the Speaker of the House dies, then the President pro tempore of the Senate will become President. If he dies, then it goes to the Cabinet members in this order:

# Secretary of the Treasury
# Secretary of Defense
# Attorney General
# Secretary of the Interior
# Secretary of Agriculture
# Secretary of Commerce
# Secretary of Labor
# Secretary of Health and Human Services
# Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
# Secretary of Transportation
# Secretary of Energy
# Secretary of Education
# Secretary of Veterans Affairs
# Secretary of Homeland Security

Their positions are ranked in succession by the years they were established.
