What's wrong with this place called Earth (poem)

"What's wrong with this place called Earth"

Birds fly by as I sit and stare,
It makes me wonder..
Does anyone care?

or even think,
that animals may one day,
Inhabit this place, that could be gone in a wink.

Yet we still pollute and destroy,
Kill and waste,
All just for us to enjoy.

Why do we do it?
Is the question that runs through many minds,
Is no-one using their wit?

We have the technology,
We have the power,
And we have something called biology.

Put them together,
We surely could make something better,
That wouldn't even harm a birds feather.

So I stop this here,
To make you think and wonder,
or maybe shed a tear.
