Have you seen the original design for Rurūshu? The original concept coloring he was blond and had a different hair style. And if you want a manga with Knightmares read Nightmare of Nunnally. The designs are awesome. This may or may not be a good thing but Rurūshu fights in the front lines now. Supposedly he can take down knightmare frames using hand to hand combat in his Zero suit.

I haven't read much of it, but as of chapter 4 I haven't seen a single mecha of any kind.
