re: gundam parts?
i've already made one with model kit parts (and then I lost it
). mine has a beam sniper rifle (one similar to that of the Guncannon's), a set of VSBRs (Variable Speed Beam Rifles) mounted on the back (similar to the Freedom's rail guns), Fin Funnels (Still not sure where to put them), hip mounted 90mm gatling guns, a reconnissance antenna and scanning device on the backpack, a beam bazooka clipped to the rear skirt armor, a pair of heat blades in storage racks behind each leg, a pair of shock sticks on the left hand for emergencies (imagine a giant mobile suit sized tazer). the thrusters are located in the legs, similar to that of a Dom's, but smaller. also a pair of wings to aid in atmospheric flight. it will also have a beam shield. if nessecary, the Gatling guns, VSBRs, and the wings can be detached from the mobile suit, or the Beam sniper rifle can be replaced with a beam assault rifle, or a beam pistol. the color scheme will be black legs and shoulders, white torso, wrists and head. the wings will be grey and the VSBRs blue. I'd call it... the Uber GM lol, or maybe the F-92

I present to you the Green Frame Gundam Astray

How's that for a custom mobile suit?

Nice green frame. I have pictures of my custom model somewhere, ill look for it and then I'll post it up. I have an Astray Blue frame, but its a piece of crap (Don't buy Grade less Seed models). I take it that yours is the HG model?

re: gundam parts?
Yes, it was a HG Blue frame. I converted the bazooka into the bullpup style cannon. I'm toying around so the beam rifle will mount on to the forearm. That way drop the bullpup for the beam gun and your hand is still free for the beam saber.

re: gundam parts?
I see, taking the idea of the FAZZ's beam rifle? I don't modify most of my model kits (With most of them being HGUC, I don't want to modify them) unless they have some significant problems with the construction (e.g. the 1990 Original HG Zeta Gundam) or if they just look bad (I got a bunch of Wing models cheap, I'm just going to spraypaint and modify.) I'm impressed with the bazooka, how did you make it a bullpup without making it look ugly? I actually though you just reused the bazooka from a different model kit. I've tried modding weapons before, but with the tiny size of the 1/144 models, I've never had much success as they often turned out looking rather... bad

re: gundam parts?
The bazooka was modified by carefully cutting it down shorter and useing the grip from the beam rifle. The gaps were filled with Squadron's green putty, and the base for the grip was built up to make room for the hand to hold it correctly.
I do miniatures as well so I've had lots of experence painting and modifing things. If you play Heavy Gear, the modified Iguana called the "Blue Lightning" was mine. I wanted a Iguana gear made up to look like Packard's custom Gouf.

re: gundam parts?
Do you guys do a lot of melting during your modding? Is it worth risking the models that I display, or should I use the crappy ones that I stored away in shame?

re: gundam parts?
I suggest you give Duuz a PM, he's the more experienced modeler, but I would suggest trying out melting on your uglier models, just to test the effects.

re: gundam parts?
To be honest, I don't have a clue. I think its the melting of plastic parts so that they fuse together. all the advice I'm giving applies to all the other modifications you do to model kits. BTW God of death, do you modify your models?
