re: Gundam Seed
You do know that there IS a Gundam forum? anyways, no Seed isn't the best. I find it very annoying when people make these kinds of posts saying that "Gundam Wing is the best!" or "Seed is the greatest!"
The pacing of the plot is all messed up. The first half of the storyline was too slow, and was a DIRECT rehash of the original Gundam. The second half was too rushed, and the idea of a 3rd faction fighting for "peace" was a joke.
I also found Kira very annoying and melodramatic. His constant crying pissed me off. In the first gundam, Amuro reacts to the deaths of others with shock, withdrawal, and then he closes off his emotions to others. Kira just cries. After a while, it loses its emotional significance.
Although Hisashi Hirani did some very nice character designes in S.Cry.Ed, his characters in Seed were horrible. All the characters looked like they were designed by a 5 year old. In the Animenation forum I used to frequent, I saw someone use photoshop to remove Kira's eyes and hair, and placed it on Athrun's head, and you know what? They looked the same! Well, not exactly the same, but very VERY similar.
I also hated the mecha designs. The Gundam is no longer a unique machine. In Seed, we get a whopping total of 12 different Gundams! I personally prefered it when they used different mobile suits, not just gundams (e.g. Mobile suit Gundam: Gundam, Guntank, Guncannon and 0083: Gundam Zephyrantes, GM Cannon, GM Custom). Mitsuo Fukuda had poorly directed Seed, letting the sales of model kits decide the plot. Because Dearka's Buster wasn't selling very well, he decided to make him a good guy. Bad idea.
I find many other Gundam series better than Seed, namely, Mobile suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Turn A Gundam (The greatest gundam anime ever made in my humble opinion) and... well, pretty much all the older stuff was better. Turn A in particular is the direct opposite of Seed. It had an original plot, likeable characters, absolutely NO reusing of clips (asides from a clip show) and a unique mecha (although some of them look ugly still, when animated...the Turn A Gundam is a thing of beauty) and surprisingly did pretty poorly. I find it very frustrating that no one will give this series a freaking chance because its different and they just sopp up rehashed and overly redundant anime like Seed. Its because of this that Bandai keeps rehashing old ideas to make anime.
I do think Seed Destiny is a pretty good series though, as it's plot is less redundant, and Shinn is less of a whiner. The rehashed Zaku and Gouf designs p*ss me off though, and will most likely irritate other UC fans.
I apologize if this sounds a little harsh or angry, I just feel strongly about this issue. Please do not take any offence from this post, or let it affect you're opinion of Gundam Seed. I just wanted to express my views.

I thought the first one was the best. Wing I think.

Wing wasn't the first Gundam. Gundam Wing was made in 1995. The first one is Mobile Suit Gundam, made in 1978. If you are talking about the first one shown in the United States, then yes, Wing was the First Gundam anime shown on TV

Re: re: Gundam Seed
I felt that Seed's ending was rushed. It could have benefited by saving several minutes for an epilogue, like what Gundam X and Turn A Gundam did. You're favorite is 08th MS Team eh? It had some very excellent action scenes, but the character develoment was very poor.Anime chic wrote:Some1 knows their gundam.*looks at TURNA*

Gineas was a stereotyped villian, Shiro was very... well, all his pacifistic ideals irritated me, but overall was a fairly good series, that I would easily rate over Seed and Wing. Have you seen Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket though? a very touching and tragic OVA, it is filled with character development, and also has some of the best choreographed mobile suit battles (Hygogg invasion, Kaempfer battle, etc...)

re: Gundam Seed
Hey godofdeath, it's cool if you like wing better than zeta, everyone has their own taste. I only hate when people say Wing/Seed is the best without actually seeing any of the other Gundams. And which SD Gundam are you talking about? Is it the older Gundam parody (from which my previous avatar was from) because the older SD gundam kicked ass. if its Superior Defender Gundam Force... then I'd agree with Kenshin. oh yeah, seed should be in the list of sites I PMed you
EDIT:
You do not want to watch Seed dubbed. The dubbing is terrible, I watched Seed subbed and disliked it. I saw Seed dubbed and HATED it. I believe Bandai chose to use a cheaper dubbing studio or something, because most of the other Gundam dubs I've heard are pretty good.

re: Gundam Seed
I liked Seed better than Wing, only for the Wing Gundams were too much like super robots than robots at war. Look at the original Gundams as an example. Even the hero's gundams took damage and showed signs of that damage. These were machines that were not invincable, the pilots lives were percieved to be in a very real dangerous situation. Even Seed showed that to some extent.
The gundams in Wing absorbed an impossible amount of damage and is not very consistant with how much damage the gundams could take. Not to mention the amount of man hours it would take to keep those gundams in top working order deep behind enemy lines raises questions of where did the spare parts for such a customized mobile suit come from? Who was makeing them? And how were the gundam pilots getting them?
The logistics of Wing just don't make any sense when sit down and think about it. If you want proof, try playing any game where obtaining spare parts is important. You'll find custom machines' parts hard to find because they are specially made for that machine.

The Great One, Heero is from Gundam Wing, and I'm not sure who you are talking about when you say Odin. the only two posibilities I can think of are Usso Evin from Victory Gundam or Al Izuhara (or) Bernie Wisema ... V_20_1.jpg

re: Gundam Seed
no he meens odin out of last out post its in the same time as gundam wing beacuse oz are attacking m-ov the satalight that the story is basied about its that seris i told you about when i first joined rember. he meens odin bernett his brother being odel benett, the they each pilot a g-unit, and they are rebelling against oz who are tring to destroy the m-ov, and odin's bro odel doesnt die hes the silver crown but in desgise so he can sen gundam griepe (the coolest ms ever desined) to m-ov so odin can use it to kill far kill. (valadar far kill an oz elete pilot) odel then pilots asklepios (another cool ms) and farkill pilots the hydra gundam. (its funny because only dr.j and the others made the five gundams (and zero and the tallgeese) so how did oz get a hydra gundam? any whos i have read all the last out post manga and they rock and turnX or what ever your called now i seriously recomend them to you, juding by you hate of too many gundams in a series, these books will suit you.(there is only about 4 or 5 in the entire series.) but all the time m-ov's battle with oz, the white fang org and the earth spere(lead by treize kushrinada earth soverien) are fighting the final battle.
