or...possibly, if your willing to go the full nine yards....
invite your close friend or cousin...(go for cousin)...they have to be anime lovers too...and ask them to bring some of their anime...dont watch anime, just distract them with some games and alcohol and then...when he's about to leave, ask him to borrow his anime...if your lucky he'll say yes...then you take anime and watch for month or so...

re: help for an anime lover
Ender mentioned Netflix. I subscribe to them and to Anime Takeout. I have an "eight-out" subscription with Netflix and an "ten-out" subscription with Anime Takeout.
Netflix seems to deliver a bit faster but sometimes they will deliver a series out of order. I have also received a couple broken discs but when you consider the quantity, I rent, the damage ratio isn't bad.
Anime Takeout is run by Anime lovers for Anime lovers. You never get a series out of order and the discs are clean and well packed. Never had a broken one.
Both have an extensive Anime library and stay fairly up to date on new releases. You just go into their data base and make a list of all the stuff you want to see. It's called a rental queue. They'll send you three DVD's. As soon as you send one back, they send you the next available one on your list.
A "three-out" subscription for either will cost you about $20 a month but you do need a credit card.

Stand back! This old Otaku has PMS, a broadsword, a double bladed battle ax, a flail, dagger in her teeth and a pistol in her belt.
