Here's another poem. Tell me how you like it.

Title: What Is Beauty?

What is beauty?
When one asks this,
People say 'tis only skin deep,
But that does not explain
What the question burning against my throat
Wishes to ask.
Is it what's on the outside, our looks?
Does it describe one's though of another's soul?
The inner self?
I don't understand
What people speak of
When they speak of beauty,
So my question to you,
My burning and baffling question is,
What is beauty?

Here's another. Just wrote it.:

Title:True Love

What is 'true love'?
Is it when people exchange their vows on the alter?
I think it's something more.
Someone should love you for just being you
Your personality, your heart, your soul.
If someone only loves your looks,
Then what kind of love do you have?
If you got to know your lover, would you love them more?
If your lover got to know you, would the relationship be stronger?
Wouldn't that be a 'true love'?
So, what does someone mean
When they say 'true love'?
That, I believe, depends on what you're looking for.

Thanks guys, and no, tsubame_03, I usually write poems pertaining to how I feel and at the time I wrote these, I was feeling very inqusitive.

Here's one I wrote for my Language Arts class today. Try to guess what Im speaking of, since it's a metaphor poem.


It's a candle, flickering on and off
There is darkness in the house's corners
It is symbolized in many different ways
There is truth, and yet, no truth
There is a candle that has been blown out
And yet rekindled for someone else
Treat the rotting house with care,
For when the wind blows out YOUR candle,
The house shall no longer be there

Thanks. They did like it. My teacher wanted a copy of it. They just couldn't figure out what the poem was meaning. You know, about friendship and stuff.
