He is so old in that he usually takes on the form of a young boy because he "claimed" to forget what his original form looked like.

(Which resembled a teenage Hohenheim) He mainly helps Dante and the other Homunculi by posing as someone to take advantage of people. He imprisoned Greed in the 5th Laboratory.

He was created by Hohenheim when he attempted to use alchemy to revive his and Dante's son, who had died from mercury poisoning. Envy held a great hatred toward Hohenheim for never being acknowledged by the man as his son and for abandoning him and Dante, with whom he has a rocky relationship. But by the time he learned that Hohenheim remarried and fathered two sons, Envy was even more furious and took it out on his “younger half-brothers”, Ed and Al, as it was the next best thing to killing their 'old man'. He even killed Ed, though Al managed to revive him with the Philosopher's Stone. Upon learning Hohenheim is still alive and beyond the gate, Envy went into it in a fit of hatred. The movie reveals that Envy is still alive and is still bent on revenge.

In the manga however, there are no signs of any grudge between him and Hoenheim unlike in the Anime. This may be because of the difference in the Homunculus theory between the two mediums.

I agree. I have read 40chapters of FullMetal that I know for sure that Envy is a guy. I know the show is diffrent so I will have to find it or find a friend that has is.
