Ki is solid energy. It is in all living things, but, you must learn to control it inorder to make a Ki ball. When you create a Ki ball you can make a Ki blast (which I haven't yet mastered.) Some people can actually make their ki visable. (I can only make my ki visable in ki ball stage) I don't know what it feels like to be hit by a ki blast nor do I want to. Also all of your ki is generated in one place: Right around your navel. I hope this helps.
