It's because the Namek's share the same sort of DNA as plants, thats why Piccolo dosen't need to eat he only needs to drink water.

Personally I prefer Cell's version of regeneration. All it takes is one cell to survive and he's back in the game.

lol i knew that...cell is a funny character!!
i like the episode where trunks go's back to his time and kicks cells ass...then i think he beats up the androids...but i dont have a great memory of the episode.......
