Is something going on between Batou and the Major?

Is there something between Batou and the Major? I believe in the last episode of the first season, he went crazy when she her cybernetic mind was shot. Also in episode 16, AG20, when Batou was investigating that former Olympic silver medalist. Batou lied, telling the man he was married and had a son. The man then later found a picture with Batou, a woman, and a young boy. The woman looked exactly like the Major! I'm just wondering, because I can't really tell.

Well, it's a "We work together", "you have cybernetic implants, i'm a full cyborg", "i like you as a friend" kind of thing.

They like each other, or better, they care for each other, but they can never really like (as in love) each other.

Batou's reason might be that the Major is indeed a lot like his wife. Not that he IS married, but that at some point in time he WAS married. Wife left him / he left wife / wife died? I don't know.

uhmm they are married u know thats what the picture was and did u see the episode where both of them were hiding out? uh duh!!!
