I will take a shot in the dark. Naraku is half demon. Inuyasha got in to the shrine, so Naraku should be able to get in as well.

Another thing! When Naraku attacked Kikyo in the feild Kikyo had the shikon jewel with her and ran away but InuYasha stole it from a shrine warded to demons couldn't get through hows that?

InuYasha's hiori(SP?)...the fire rat coat...has to slits in the sleeves...maybe that's where he was hit. mind you, he has been run through hundreds (and i'm not kidding) of times...so much that it isn't an episode if he's not impaled.

to the questions above: Naraku wanted to make the two of them betray each other. to have them attempt to kill each other would be one thing; to have kikyo intercept inuyasha with jewel would be another. naraku, being a b%#@ard, knew this, and took the jewel from Kikyo and placed it back at the shrine, probably impersonating kikyo (why hasn't anyone ever wondered just WHY no one noticed naraku slipping in and out of the shrine). demons weren't able to get into the shrine becasue kikyo always killed them...but that was hard to do with a pair of razor sharp claws in her back (hehe).
