Recommend me some good Anime.
I recently got more invovled in anime. I was invited over to a friends house to watch some. I didn't really watch any anime shows persay it seemed like they were all a special 1 to 1 and a half hours long. I haven't been much of a fan, but I really really enjoyed watching what I did. Sorry for my noobishness... I forget the names of what I watch. Most seemed like drama animes.
What would you Recommend someone new to the anime seen to see? I tried watching Cartoon network, but its hard to understand some series like Cowboy bebop when the first episode you see is in the middle of the series. I really like drama/action animes. I like them to be pretty serious, unlike Trigun. Don't get me long I like Trigun but its not my fav.
Anyways...; list some please. Thank you.

Zombie456, Welcome to our world!
Warning!!!! It can be addictive. I'll dig up some titles for you a bit later. In the mean time, skim through the stickies in this forum, "Favorite Anime” and Your Most Recent Viewing.”
Also, check out the reviews at AnimeonDVD.com. That will help you get a sense of some series too but you might find the quantity and jargon overwhelming at first.
I highly recommend renting anime from Netflix or Anime Takeout or, if you don’t have a credit card, your local Blockbuster or such like. That way you can watch them in order from the beginning. When a new series starts on Adult Swim or G4, I set my recorder so I catch them in order. When a series captures your heart and imagination, by it.
Oh, Noir is an excellent series!

Howdy there, Zombie 456! I'm the darkdriver. Been around to a number of threadcities, back here for a spell.
You want some ideas on anime worth watching? Well...my favorite is Serial Experiments: Lain...but it's not for everyone. Heck, there are serious otaku that don't understand it. Heck, even its American studio didn't understand it!
So let's start you off easy:Assemble Insert, Dai-guard, Neo Ranga, You're Under Arrest. Those are all "clean" series, funny yet dramatic too. And simple. The first is all on one disc, the next are 5 or six discs...and the last is a lot of discs for the entire series (including miniepisodes and OVA).
I don't know your age...but if you're old enough, I'd then step you up to Excel Saga, Arcade Gamer Fubuki, Cosplay Complex, and Super Atragon. A bit more serious, and definitely for a mature audience; all but the first is all on one disc.
And if you're an adult, I'd move you up to anime like Ninja Scroll, Akira, Grave of the Fireflies, and Ghost in the Shell. Once you've seen the 4 legendary OAVs...
...and also had some stuff on the side, like Oh My Goddess and any Rumiko Takahashi creations...
...then and only then I would recommend Serial Experiments: Lain.
...no, I didn't put myself through this regimen to achieve SEL...but, then again, I've always been able to grasp the complex. If you're pretty sharp and can handle mature situations and language (and by "handle" I mean be old enough or have your parents' permission if you're not), then give SEL a try from the getgo. Otherwise, set SEL as a goal to reach.
And trust me: you'll enjoy all the anime I listed. I certainly did.

re: Recommend me some good Anime.
Hm... Definitely check out BLEACH. Hang in there for the first 10-20 episodes. It's okay during that point, but then it gets REALLY insanely good.
I think you'd also like Blue Submarine No. 6. It's a bit old show and short (4 episodes) but it's terrific.
Rurouni Kenshin has plenty of action and drama with some comedy sprinkled in. And it's OVA is ALL action and drama. You could even watch it's OVA without the series, but watching the series first really helps the affect.
And I'm more of a shojo girl, so I'm out of ideas ^_^;;

Full Metal Panic! was a good one, for big machine people. Sousuke needed some help, though... ^_^
Then there's Princess Tutu, if you like dancing, fantasy, and/or ducks.
And then there's the movies:
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Early Reins
Spirited Away
Princess Mononoke
and My Neighbor Totoro
Most of which are from Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki.
