Heavy Metal L-Gaim

Post by Sanger Zomvolt »

L-GAIM'S FIRST EPISODE IS OUT!

After encountering some snags, http://www.shingetter.deltaanime.net has finally released L-Gaim episode 1. This is the second anime show that Shin-Getter is subbing, and anyone who even remotely likes Gundam should check this show out! It was created by Yoshiyuki Tomino, a man whom I consider the father of Gundam. He created every Universal Century Gundam anime series (save the OVAs) as well as Turn A Gundam, a show I consider to be the finest among all of the other Gundam shows.

I really love this fansubbing site, and if I had any knowledge of Japanese, or any fansubbing skills, I would gladly help them out. They are dedicated to fansubbing older unknown classical anime that have almost no chance of seeing the light of day in the United States, something I really admire (Though they are working on fansubbing a few newer animes that do have a chance of becoming licensed). Especially considering that these animes are virtually unknown compared to OMGF RoXoRRSZZ animes like Bleach or Naruto (Not insulting these animes, just stating that they have the advantage of hype and popularity). Its sufficient to say that I support this group greatly. I know they guys who run the website from a different forum, and they are really great people who just want to expose people to quality anime. C'mon everyone, download L-Gaim! Even if its just out of curiosity...Please?

Their current projects include
Space Runaway Ideon (Up to episode 11, ep 12 is 20% completed)

Heavy Metal L-Gaim (Up to episode 1, ep 2 is 60% completed)

Blue Comet SPT Layzner (Working on it right now, they just found a translator)

Gunparade Orchestra (Working on it right now, they now have a translator)

Combat Mecha Xabungle (On hold right now because lack of a translator)

Metal Armor Dragonar (Planned. This is the one series I am looking forward to the most :) )

Zoids: Genesis (Planned. This looks to be the best among all the Zoids series, and it is quite possible that this series will be better than Zoids: Guardian Force (Which IMHO is way better than all the other Zoid series.)

EDIT:
Apologies, I have just realized in hindsight that this post would belong better in the "Any Specific Anime" section. Would a mod kindly move this thread to the appropriate section? Thanks.

Wow, thats going back a ways for that series. It's almost as old as Gundam so a fansub is likly the only way any one will ever see it. Like a couple other anime titles I can think of.

What I would really like to see is the series Legend of Galactic Heroes fansubbed. Yeah I know it's 110 episodes long, just like Babylon 5. But I really like those epic sci-fi series like that.

Duuz, you are in luck. Legend of Galactic Heroes is currently being fansubbed by Central Anime, and considering that it will probably never make it to the US, I think it is ok to download it. Central Anime just released episode 50 just five days ago. I am currently watching it, and I am very impressed with LOGH. The series really reminds me of World War I history. I know that there were plans to bring over LOGH several years ago, (47 DVDs... $1700...) But I believe that the plan was canned due to the general lack of interest among American Anime fans (fools do not know what they are missing). The only minor problem in the anime so far was that I found German names a bit hard to keep track of. considering that CA has already fansubbed 50 episodes, I imagine that they plan to go all the way with LOGH. If you want, you can find it on http://www.animesuki.com

Too bad I don't have the connection to make full use of bit torrent. Know any fansub distributors that have it?

Sorry, I don't. You could try asking Central Anime if they can burn them onto CDs and ship them to you (Who knows, they may agree if you offer to reimburse the cost of the CDs), or you could ask a friend with a faster connection to download them for you.
