No i think Seeshomaru was from the same mother, just because he doesnt have a human inside of him doesnt mean he was from a different mother he could of not gotten the same blood unlike Inuyasha did when he was born.

my god, i'm gone for like two weeks and hell breaks loose!!

i'm deviating from topic so those who don't want to read, stop now.
eto...now, everyone quiet down and think this through logically. as HIK stated ever-so-wisely, inu and Sesshoumaru are NOT brothers from-the-same-mother. just because they do not share a mother, it does not mean that they cannot be brothers. if you don't understand (or can comprehend) this, i do believe that you should be in bed when the show comes on because you are WAY to young to watch.
Sesshoumaru and inuYasha share a father, the Inu no Taisho. Inu's mother was human (duh), hence the hanyou (halfling) blood in him; half human, half youkai. Hence Sesshoumaru verbally bashing him when they fight, calling him a half-breed; he hold no regard for InuYasha because he is imperfect. in the third movie, you get a good sense that Sesshoumaru actually detests inuYasha because his father died protecting Izayio, inu's mama.
who Sesshoumaru's mother truly is has yet to be written; not even in the manga has she ever been spoken of.
never, please to god, never think that they shared a mother. to do that destorys part of the main segment of the plot; the predujice of society (and in ones own family) because of race (or in this case, blood). it can be dated so many historical battles (as delineated on cartoon network black and white boards a few months ago) of the aristrocial views of the blood being the way to judge rulers or the racial views that how one looks on the outside is all that matters. it's a vital part of the show, this theory!!!
>__< do you see what you've done...you pulled the english major out of me. Oi!!!
Anyway; age, yes.
in the canon TV show, Inu is supposed to be a 16 year old boy, who was pinned to a tree by spell for about 50 years. so in the canon, he should be about 66.
the third movie interviened that thought and plotted a new idea. the sword that was relinquished at the Inu No Taisho's death (and inu's birth), soun'gne (one that could not be controlled by ANYONE) could be sealed in the sheath for 700 years. after 200, he appeared back again, mocked by both Myouga and Totosai for losing his grasp after such a short period of time. that means, that taking away the fifty years that inu would be 150. Sesshies, on the other hand, is MUCH older. do not judge appearences. he looked around inu's age when his father died. so at least, he's 400!
::deep sigh:: now i have a paper to write...
