re: marriage w/ conditions

Post by Raoul Duke »

I've been going through the whole marriage thing too. I think it's because of me that you are Anna. :? I made the marriage thread in OTD, and I did a whole heap of research about the origins of marriage today, just so I could win a debate, but it turns out that the guy I was going to be debating with (GRAVYTRAIN) just frickin gave up! Oh well.

My theory is that most men want their partner to be a virgin because they don't want the partner comparing them to someone previous. It's a way of hiding their own incompetance.

Personally I don't believe in marriage myself, but I don't care either way if my partner is a virgin or not.

Anner The Mad Hatter wrote:Agg!! I hate how people always think that it's alright for guys to have sex all the time, but it's such a big deal for girls to lose their virginity.

i dont get it, how is a girls loss of virginity more important than a guys? because they lose a layer of skin, that makes it more important than a guys first time?

because if its not that, then your saying its something emotional, saying that girls are more emotionaslly inclined about this loss of inocence, which is completlyly sexist

i "like" how people assume guys dont care about theyre first, just because they dont show it right out

how does that not make sense?

to say a womans loss of viginity (or innocence) is more meaningful than a guys on an emotional level, is quite sexist (examples: guys are more inclined to anger than girls, or woman feel love stronger than men. are common, but sexist views)

My point exactly. I understand how guys would rather be someone who...I don't know...who hasn't gotten around, lol, because they would like to think that she's like...untouched...and all theirs or something. And that's total bs. What about the guy himself? I'm sorry, but if a guy brings up virginity infront of me and starts to bash a girl for being a..ahem...hoe, I'd freak out, that is if he was a man-hoe himself, if not, then I wouldn't care.
And plus, like you said. I really can't see how virginity is so important. I have parents who wouldn't even imagine their daughters marrying someone not being virgins. lol, and I can't STAND IT! And it definetly shouldn't matter to the guy, heck, if a guy brings it up and tries to diss you girls, fire back and say, "what about you? would you say you're a man-hoe?".

And Locke, you so totally did. Well, I was always intrested in that matter since I've a dad who believes the exact opposite of what I believe (mother too, but not as bad lol) so yeah. Same with religion really, and the whole God issue.

It doesn't make sense because you lack the ability to type simple sentences in an coherent manner, and what it is you are trying to say is the type of thinking induced by the brainwashing of Christian fundamentalists.
Saying innocence is tantamount to virginity is very silly indeed.

"woman-activist sort of person, "

Feminist?
I felt like a race horse in a world without racetracks or a champion college footballer suddenly confronted by Wall Street and a business suit, his days of glory shrunk to a little gold cup on his mantel with a date engraved on it like a tombstone.

Yeah, and if you're not a virgin anymore and you're a girl, they now have corrective surgery for that. :o
