Should the UK have a death penalty?

the death penalty should only be used for anyone who takes the life of another human. 28 mins ago an aussie was hanged for smuggling drungs into singapore. No doubt he was guilty, but no way did he deserve such barbaric punishment as being hanged to death.

Lets hope that the U.K. only employs limited use of the death penalty.

Your exactly right Locke. The other thing is this guy was doing this to get money to pay off his brother's debt. Im not saying this justifies his actions, but is it really the actions of a man who deserves to die??? Clearly not.

Its very sad because i have been to Singapore and i loved the country. Clean, well maintained, but now its just too risky to go there. If you have chewing gum, i think its 10 lashes. Certainly is if u throw paper on the ground. In the end its only going to hurt the tourism of these countries, as aussies will have no problems boycotting them, just like Bali.

Due to a recent attack on UK police officers, the issue of whever or not the death penalty should return to Britain.

Personally I think the prospect of death should be given to murders of anykind, rapests and child abductors.

Unfortunately its not just a clear-cut case of eye for an eye. Families and friends of deceased are handed life sentences. Why shouldnt their pain be vindicated?

In the end, its a real double-edged sword and just a moral impossibility. No human has the right to decide on the fate of another's life, so if Britan was to introduce it, even just for murderers and the such, it would be difficult to decide if its really best for its society.
