The mystery behind Sesshoumaru
Does anyone actually KNOW what Sesshoumaru's fluffy thing is? It's not a tail, as I have quite commonly heard. I believe it was off his shoulder in the episode where he meets Rin. So anyway, is this just one big unsolved enigma, or does anyone acctually know what it is?
Re: The mystery behind Sesshoumaru
i was told that it was something passed down by his father- it was his tail and that sesshomaru carries it because his father was the best demon..but that was what i was toldPobbin wrote:Does anyone actually KNOW what Sesshoumaru's fluffy thing is? I felt like a race horse in a world without racetracks or a champion college footballer suddenly confronted by Wall Street and a business suit, his days of glory shrunk to a little gold cup on his mantel with a date engraved on it like a tombstone.
your quite welcome!!^^Pobbin wrote:Thanks everyone, very helpful!

::rubs temples:: I really do not know where you hear such things. That "fluff" is a mark of respect, high-rankings, not a tail, which is why Sesshomaru's father had two "fluffs", to show he was of higher ranking than Sesshomaru has the Lord of the Western Lands. It has nothing to do with being Sesshomaru's tail, or Inu no Taisho's (Lord of the Dogs') tail.

Sesshomaru's "fluff" is not a tail. It does not connect to his body in any way but in his true demonic dog form. The "fluff" is a furry pelt, warn by him because he is an aristocratic demon, a noble. It's a sign of his rank in society. Inu no Taisho, as Inu-Yasha's Princess said, has two pelts because of the respected demon noble he was; he ruled in the West.
I believe Rumiko Takahashi, when interviewed and asked this question, said she herself did not know what it was and had given it to Sesshomaru for clothing/weaponry purposes.
