Dan Brown Books (Da Vinci Code; Angels and Demons)

Wow, I'm suprised this hasn't been posted here by now. I have to say the books actually lives up to all the mass hysteria. The Da Vinci code is a one-of-a-kind read, but I would have to say Angels and Demons is better by a long shot. Anyone read these books?

I read the Da Vinci Code about half a year ago. I absolutely loved it. I was hanging off a cliff at the end of each chapter, I had to get keep reading

I just saw the movie today with my mummy, no where near as good as the book, I just didn't get into it that much...And I think if I hadn't read the book I would have had to guess what was going on in the movie lol.

To sum up

Da Vinci Code is a good story, and the book tells it better.

I also saw the movie and was a little disappointed. For the people that read the book, it was a pretty boring watch. Of course, that's because it did stay right with the book. I'm glad there were no extra parts/alternative endings that were added.

I have been reading the Da Vinci Code but haven't been able to finish it, my friend saw it and he said it was good There was also another friend who didn't read it but she thought it was okay. I personally love the books better than movies. And just started reading Angels and Demons and its great

I thought there were some alternate things and I was like 'I didn't think that was how it went?' in my head in the movie lol. My memory of the book is a little scratchy but I thought Langdon kissed Sophie on the lips...and there were a bunch of other things I thought went different in the movie too. I cant remember what they were, but I think one of the things had to do with Silas.

I think the movie captured the characters pretty well

They did change a few scenes with Silas but nothing that would overly alter the overall storyline. Much was cut out, of course, because the book was so lengthy. My memory is also a little blurry as I read the book a long time ago, so they may have changed some minor things. Although when I saw the movie, it kept the same suspense and feeling as the book, so I thought they did an alright transaction. For it being a more psychological book, they did good interpreting it in a physical aspect.

It's not a hard read as long as you get past all the French words and religious terminology. I would recommend this for a casual read, not as a quick one. If you do read it, take your time with it. I'm sure you can handle it ^_^

Well...I do have a college level for reading...and I have been studying the bible...I went to bible school for six years...and I read the whole bibal also...But French is something I have no idea about...

^Indeed. There is a ton of material that is easily mistaken for truth. There are many books and TV specials that decipher between fiction and reality. The book is written to well that even I believed what he said. It often times bashes Christianity, and I'm sure it has a shady past, but who doesnt? I'm at least greatful it brings God back into modern society. It's about time something so popular actually deals with God. Last time was The Passion by Mel Gibson.

i loved the da vinci code, then i read angels and demons and it was ten times better but is it just me are all dan browns books almost the same, the 4 i have are really alike

I saw the movie, and even though all the critics seemed to have bashed it I think they did an awesome job of interpreting it.

I still want to read Digital Fortress, but I havent gotten around to going to Borders yet.
