Alright, I have seen the entire saga, the series, Death and Rebirth, and The End of Evangelion. I'm completely and utterly confused. I mean, I understand a goodly chunk of it. Like the whole concept of reality is what you make of it. Which ties into the counter-concept of life is just a dream. That's all fine and philosophical, but my question is wtf is up with Shinji? I mean, I thought that he had "fixed" himself at the end of End of Evangelion, during that whole speil with Rei and the Third Impact. But then, at the end of it all, he tries to kill Asuka... I don't get it. Someone please, PLEASE, tell me what's wrong with this kid and why! ;__;

Simply put you need to decide which ending you personally want to accept for yourself. Death/Rebirth and End of Evangelion are just physical representations of what happens in the last two episodes of the series. At the end of both versions Shinji finds his...."happy place". Original Ep. 25 and 26 are shown through Shinji's mind while the 2 movies show whats going if it were being seen from the outside world.

This show is an eye-Burning Horrorfest That Will Leave You on Your Feces-Soiled Knees Begging for Merciful Death That Won’t [censored] Come ----- shinji is a twisted crybaby [censored] who masturbates to camotose victims and his father is a pedophile ----- shinji has enough problems to make Freud rip his own esophagus out trying to catagorize them all----- there's one positive aspect about this movie though, it keeps pedophiles and potential rapists occupied and off the streets for a couple hours.

Okay, okay. Now first of all, yes, Shinji is kinda a crybaby, yes he does masturbate to comatose peoples, and yes he does have lots of problems, but you shouldnt make fun of him. I mean, have some pity for the poor guy! His father left him alone when he was super young, his mom died when he was even younger, and now his father is trying to go through with some plan that is seriously friggin' up his brain. In summary, dont make fun of Shinji...or I'll rip out your intestines.

Over the last week, I watched the entire series and End of Evangelion. It definately blew my mind, and I'm still in a state of recovery. In reference to Shinji and Asuka on the beach, though, I found a link that made it all better...
