Who here remembers Princess Mononoke on Toonami

I did. I was very surprised that it was unedited since CN usually edits bloody stuff. So is Cartoon Network sued for not censoring that movie?

I think that as long as they have the appropriate age bracket labeled at the beginning, and it's on at a later hour they're fine. It's not like it's illegal for them to show blood, it's just not meant for their day audiences.

Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke) - as well as the other Ghibli films - were released in the U.S. with the explicit agreement that the animation in them would remain completely unedited. This was due to Miyazaki's reaction to the illegal representation that Kaze no Tani no Naushika (Nausicaa of the valley of the Wind) got (in the form of the Warriors of the Wind videos), and the butchering that happened to that anime's animation in its original international release.

So it was either they don't edit it, or they can't show it. Considering the popularity of the movie...

I love that movie... i remember seeing and then gong out to riverpark to buy it. such a great movie. though the forest spirit was a little odd looking.
