Haku was a GIRL, not a boy!

Before in this topic I said that the anime did not really show any romantic relationship between Zabuza and Haku, but I was wrong about that. After watching the reruns of that saga I observed the following scene.

Haku saves Zabuza and he is revived, just like in the manga. Zabuza complains about being hit in the neck by the needles. Haku then states, “I didn’t want to scar your flawless body”, or something to that effect. This is just like the manga, except Haku calls Zabuza’s body beautiful in the manga but flawless in the anime. Haku also blushes while saying this.

Now, this is a clear indication that Haku is attracted to males, and specifically, Zabuza. This means that Haku is a girl, since girls are obviously attracted to males, and it would be unnatural and contradictory to the other facts in the series if Haku were a male.

To review, the first episode with Haku involved Kakashi and the others to ask who the mysterious “boy” was. This is an assumption however, and there was no indication that Haku was a male. Moreover, Kakashi also made the mistake of assuming Haku was a tracker ninja there to kill Zabuza. This makes Kakashi an unreliable source and a poor judge of character.

Like I said before, Haku then commented on Zabuza’s “flawless body”, which shows Haku’s sexual preference.

Another episode shows Zabuza recovering at Gatou’s hideout. Gatou tries to grab Zabuza’s mask, but Haku stops him, first of all because she didn’t want Gatou’s dirty hands to touch Zabuza. Another reason was because Zabuza was ready to kill Gatou. Haku then told Zabuza that killing Gatou would only get the hunter-nin back on their trail. Zabuza then said that Haku was right. Now, not only was that a “yes dear” answer on Zabuza’s part, but it shows that Haku is always looking out for Zabuza just as a consort does. Consorts of that culture are mistresses of nobility or wives. This also shows that Zabuza and Haku had tracking ninjas hunting them. This would give Haku a very good reason to hide her identity.

This leads into another instance of where Haku is shown letting her hair down in order to change into female clothing. She goes out into the woods to gather medicinal herbs for Zabuza. This is where she finds Naruto, who assumes that Haku is a girl based on appearance. Knowing that she and Naruto would meet again, she tells Naruto that she is really a boy. Naruto was surprised to hear that claim, but believes it anyway.

In another episode, Haku is shown to be no match for Sasuke when it comes to physical strength and skill. Therefore, she relies on her special ability of the Crystal Ice Mirrors to trap Sasuke and gain the upper hand. Naruto appears with a flashy show and Kakashi scolds him for not being stealthy. Naruto also proceeds to use a shadow clone jutsu stops when Zabuza throws shuriken at him. Haku neutralizes the stars because she wants to fight Naruto on her own terms. Kakashi also scolds Naruto about revealing his jutsu to the enemy. He states that the ninja art is about deception and keeping your opponent guessing in order to throw them off balance or catch them off guard. Haku completely agrees with this and tells Naruto that deception is the way of the shinobi. Now, if Haku believes this, then why would she tell Naruto that she is a boy? Why else but to keep Naruto guessing, or to catch him off guard? Naruto had called Haku “sis” and thought that she was a girl in the woods, so Haku had to state that she was a boy to keep Naruto guessing. Think about it. If she were really a boy, then stating that she was a boy would be telling the truth, not a deception. It would in fact be doing the very thing that Kakashi scolded Naruto for on the bridge, revealing yourself to the enemy.

Tonight’s episode should be very informative as well if it is the one I am thinking of. So lets watch that episode, and if there is anything to discuss then we will tomorrow. Until then.

Obviously your missing the point, the guy who wrote the manga said that Haku is a (homosexual) boy

Dressing like a girl is enough to hide (or at least confuse) his opponents. Gender happens to be irrelavent to combat, and he wears a mask anyways so why would he need to protect his identity any more

EDIT: Did you just change your avatar to mine? Nevermind, probably just a glitch. Anyway, if Haku takes all that time to look like a girl but is really a boy, then why does she tell Naruto that she is a boy after the disguise obviously worked on him? Also, Haku lies about her gender so that hunter-nin will hunt a boy while trying to track her and Zabuza. Since she is really a girl, the hunters won't suspect her.

Why prove it? If you know that it is true then listen to your heart. Lies only remain because humans want everything to be proven. But what if it's impossible to prove and your telling the truth? I have held strongly to that belief for a very long time. And besides that, it has been proven by Masashi already anyways dude.

Naruto called Haku a lady and "sis" when he first met her face to face, so your claim is incorrect. Also, the numerous boy references do not come from reliable sources within the series. The facts state that Haku is most likely a girl, because she shows physical attraction to Zabuza.

Zabuza tells Kakashi to take him to the person that Kakashi thinks Haku is. Therefore, saying "take me to him" is merely the fastest way to get to Haku, since Kakashi is under the impression that Haku is a male. Kakashi's belief that Haku is a boy is unfounded however, much as his belief that she was a tracker ninja was unfounded.

That is most likely a lie though. According to the facts of the series Haku believes in deceiving the opponent. The series also dictates that Haku must lie about her true identity since she and Zabuza are being tracked by hunter-nin who wish to destroy them. If Haku were male, then she would not go through all the trouble of trying to look like a girl just to tell her enemy that she is a boy. That simply does not make sense. The most likely possibility is that she is a girl pretending to be a boy so that it confuses the hunter-nin. Zabuza also tells Haku at the beginning that he is not interested in consolation or compasion. This is also a good reason for Haku to pretend to be the same gender, as it eliminates the possibility of a romantic relationship between her and Zabuza. This of course is done for Zabuza's comfort, which is something Zabuza would support. Thus, Zabuza would refer to Haku as a boy both for his benifit in both staying safe from the hunter-nin and so there is no relationship, and also for Haku's saftey from the hunter-nin and other enemies.

So, saying that Haku is a boy just because she claims to be one is not a valid argument. Haku pretended to be a hunter-nin as well, but that did not make her one.

Someone said that the "Haku is a boy" comment of Kishimoto's was in the June issue, yet this two part interview does not even mention Haku at all.

I am starting to suspect that this comment does not even exist. I have searched the internet for this interview and statement, yet I have found nothing about it, rather other interviews that talk about other things. Could the Hakubuki side be lying about Kishimoto stating that Haku was a boy?

man ur so determind to say that Haku is a girl but he isnt, Zabuza wanted to go with Haku where ever he went because Haku served him for everything he would do anyting that Zabuza asked, and in the end Zabuza wanted to repay Haku for everything he has ever done, sides every site i have been to it says Haku is a boy even here.
