FIGHT FIGHT FI- I mean...
Welcome fellow Otakus to one of my infamous threads. This time, I will be viewing both pros and cons of Manga and Anime. Everyone is entitle to their own opinion, this is just mine. A poll will also be set up and I also expect all my brothers and sisters out there to post their views upon each. May the battle, commence!!!
MANGA~~
Pros:
-You get to see where it all started.
-It is a form of literature, and from what I've heard, reading is good.
-Some kids dislike reading and will only read Mangas and Comics, so that means Manga = good.
-Can you sketch a moving picture..? nuff said.
-Sometimes people like to colour in the images in the Mangas.
-We have Online Mangas.
-You can pre-read Manga in stores, incase you wish not to buy.
Cons:
-It's hard to read Japanese characters.
-Sometimes I can only get my Mangas in french, which is indeed a killjoy.
-Mangas are sometimes hard to find (I only have volumes 9 & 10 of Love Hina ^^').
-You can't rip a DVD or VHS, or a TV, lol.
-Mangas don't have "special features"
-Mangas are very limited so you can't always get what you want. Stupid mail order -.-
-No color
ANIME~~
Pros:
-The animation of Anime is stunning and much better moving then still in Mangas.
-You can pause, rewind, fast forward though the Anime (if not on TV). I know you can skip [censored] in Mangas but it's really not as fun is it..?
-Anime DVDs have "special features" and often have extras.
-You can't watch trailers on a Manga, lol.
-You can get turned on more by someone moving then still, ^^;
-ANIME FCUIKNG ROCKS!! (Spelt incorrectly on purpose, sorry if inappropriate)
-Anime has Music ^^
Cons:
-If you are watching Anime by TV, you can accidently miss parts of miss it completely
-Anime DVDs/VHSs can sometime sbe expensive, even ridiculous in price (doesn't stop me)
-You can't sketch a moving picture.
-Most Animes are very restricted in Languages.
-Some Animes are horribly dubbed.
-Some Animes have subtitles, whcih some people don't like to read.
-You can't really preview the Anime in stores.
~~~ Well, like I asked, post with your commenst and mention anything I left out, i most likely won't EDIT but I will most likely agree with you. I know I'm probably leaving out some key things, but I think I've covered it good ^^ Also watch out for my next project; Subtitles vs. Dubbed!!~~~
Difficult to say really. Often the manga is many times better than the anime, it covers more of the series and gives more details. It's not often when the anime is better than the manga.
That's what i was thinking. Because in the Manag everything you get to see/know. In the Anime they can cut stuff. SO you're kind of missing out
That is why you buy anime that hasn't been edited. Though they don't sell to many of those in America. I prefer anime to manga only if the voices for the characters has been done well and not much has been edited. Other than that manga is usually better.
I love both! I can't choose, it's impossible to choose because I love both!
Good stuff J_A_T.
In my opinion, true fans really shouldn't care (they should love both the same). Manga and Anime are both from the same seed. The only difference between them is that Manga is based on still-art, and Anime is based on animation (art in motion). Both tend to go on about the same story lines.... I really can't see how anyone could choose...well, then again, that's just my opinion.
im switzerland. im neutral
I felt like a race horse in a world without racetracks or a champion college footballer suddenly confronted by Wall Street and a business suit, his days of glory shrunk to a little gold cup on his mantel with a date engraved on it like a tombstone.
I preferably like anime better. I think it's because too much concentration is needed for manga. Especialy the ones where you have to read from theback to the front!!!!
