Kohaku is dead. his life force is bonded to the jewel shard imbedded in his back. when it is removed (which eventually it will need to be to complete the jewel), his body will pass on. who knows, maybe he will get back his memory and help in Naraku's defeat but when time comes, and they take the jewel shard, no matter what he knows, he will die. the only saving grace that he may have is Tensaiga. and for that to work, Rin would need to convince Sesshoumaru. now, mind you, Sesshoumaru would NEVER EVER admit he nees something. i think he would sooner give up his right arm. in the most dire of times, he doesn't admit he needs anyone. it would be a step down for the youkai lord, a step he would never take. yet he jumps higher then the heavens for Rin. honestly, he does. think about it...he says he saved her for his benefit yet has anyone gone back to exactly LOOK at his expression when he is holding her. he gives a damn, honestly, just like he gives a damn about inuyasha (look to the episodes with the bandits, he can kill yash but reframes from, also the episode recently with Jaken falling ill...the tip of his sword against Yash's neck and he just leaves). he just will NEVER admit it.

I felt like a race horse in a world without racetracks or a champion college footballer suddenly confronted by Wall Street and a business suit, his days of glory shrunk to a little gold cup on his mantel with a date engraved on it like a tombstone.
